what size muffler do i need?

i'm thinking about upgrading my exhaust and i was thinking a flowmaster super 44 and resonator delete. i'm assuming center in/center out 2 1/2"?

You probably want a 3" in/out b/c the stock pipes are 2.75" and there's no point in constricting the system :)

If you're not a fan of drone, I would consider leaving the resonator on.

What exactly is "drone"? I see that in ads for Corsa mufflers, saying they done have any drone.

I define it as constant reverberation in your ears.. that point where the auditory note can actually be felt. Like a deep bass tone that never adjusts, it seems to be a problem around cruising speeds where the tach is anywhere between 2000-2500 RPM.

i had a mustang with an o/r x pipe and flowmasters so whatever drone this might add its going to be nothing compared to what i listened to for the past 4 years. and to elvis, i had some slp loudmouths for a couple months which are comparable to your dynomax bullet, and those are stupid loud for a DD. another thing i was thinking about was doing a side exit with dual tips but i'm undecided on that b/c i think that will look really badass or really gay

Yeah it is stupid loud but I love it. Now it is not loud enough for me because I got so used to it. LOL

Thats def not true with the magnaflow catback I have on my 3.7 right now. It sounds much louder and have had people even ask what i have installed because they heard me awhiles away. The 3.7 has no resinators, just a big ass huge stock muffler that was insanely big.

Now im swapping it out for an srt stock exhaust without a muffler and resinators only. Should be "louder".

It's gonna be REAL loud without a reso. I run a 4x14" round Magnaflow on my 4.7 WJ, and with no cats I was setting off car alarms starting up and idling through lanes. I run 3 cats (2 high flow ceramic, 1 race cat) now and it's still very loud but significantly tamer.

I just got my hands on the srt pipes and resinators, im not going to run a muffler with it. Im hoping my V6 will sound good with this set-up.
