Help, lint in my primer in doing NOW!!

Im painting my stillen headlight covers in my basement right now, I keep seeing lint or specs of junk in my prime coat im applying right now. I got tweezers to pull most of it out, but it seems to keep falling on my covers as im painting. I have 3 coats of primer on right now. What should i do?

1-Sand the primer with 1000 grit paper after it dries tomorrow?

2-Color coat it now then sand it with 1000 grit sandpaper before clear coat?

3-Or color coat, clear coat it after an hour THEN sand with 1000 grit paper tomorrow and buff it???


Im realizing my basement prob isnt the cleanest place to paint, but the "lint" things wont stop getting in the paint. Its not alot, like one or two, but its driving me crazy because i want it perfect.

Eh, too late. It really didnt come out the way I wanted it anyways, the black metallic appears to be too "black". It seems like my brilliant black crystal is kind of greyish and not a pure black. But that could be because there's no wax on the dam car. Thats how my ground effects look, they are darker than the car and they told me they matched the PXR paint code.

I did them in my basement last night, few coats of primer then color coats about 30 min after, then waited about 2 hours then applied the clear coats. When I took them out in the sun today the surface isnt that smooth and I noticed specs of the primer showing in areas on both where I guess I didnt coat it good enough. I guess my lighting sux and I didnt catch it while painting. Can I throw them on the car now anyways, i've had them laying out in the sun all morning letting them dry? I def have to redo them, but while im waiting for some PXR paint ill order offline id like to try them out anyways. I plan on sanding them down again and starting over again, but do I have to sand them down to the plastic again, or can I just sand off the clear coat with an 800 grit?

just lightly sand the current finish....no need to strip it back down
