One is constant power, the other is not. The one that does not would have a lighter in it if you got the smoker's group.

they are diff sizes for one. i have a light in the left one its too small for the right one.
i also think only one is always on, one with ignition. i think.......

Depends on what you want to power. Personally I'd tap into the one that doesn't (that is the cig lighter - it comes on with the ignition).

The one with the battery is always on because it's connected directly to the battery's power and not mitigated by where the key is in the ignition.

Does anyone sell a sleeve that'll let you use the smaller cigarette lighter sized plugs in the larger accessory socket? I've got a flashlight I'd like to stick in the rear accessory outlet but the danged thing uses the smaller cig lighter diameter. I'd prefer to not use anything that stuck out. Seems like a metal sleeve of some sort would do the job.
