View Full Version : Matt's 5k/5k HID Pictures
Well, here they are folks. Keep in mind my picture taking skills are very limited, lol. The head lamps were adjusted all the way down then slightly raised. I'm going to do some further testing to see what adjustment is best. I also took some pics of the install, so I guess I'll put together a How-To at some point (maybe tomorrow).
What a difference HID's make!! I swear the HID fogs (and the lows and highs off) are equivalent to the SSU's low + fogs. Definitely impressed with the set-up.
Products:
Xentec 5000k 9006 Low beam (slim ballast)
Xentec 5000k H10 Fog Light (slim ballast)
Xentec Relay (for low-beams)

I will say (and I'm sure those with HID's no what I'm talking about), the pictures don't do them justice. They look a million times better in person.
Thanks to all those that helped me with the install/troubleshooting!!

Here we go, rep power goes from 68 to 156!
Nice stuff Mr. Matt.
Modding streaaaaaaaak. LOL, whats next!
Very nice Matt, HID's FTMFW!!
I always turn off my low beams when I turn onto my street late at night, and ride with just my fogs on.. It's a pretty cool effect with 3k fogs.

I know, two mods in two days, lol. Actually I do need to add an AUX cable.. maybe I'll go bang that out really quick.
No more mods for a while though, later on I'll paint the bumper lip, side skirts, and mirrors, and then maybe an SRT grille, then I'm done. Hopefully, lol.

Thanks Chris!! I actually did the same as I pulled into my neighborhood... I saw a guy walking and didn't want to blind him, lol. I need to get a set of 3k's soon.

Awesome stuff - it really is night and day. I still have silverstar highbeams in my headlights and they look SO BAD compared to the 5K lows.

haha, I actually have the PAC iPod adapter installed (and has a build in AUX input), but I don't like some things about using the direct iPod input, so I'm just going to pull the radio again and run an AUX cable to the console area.

Hmm, never thought about that... they do kinda fit in with the black pillars, all one black piece look. Decisions decisions, lol.

 Don't listen to my advice. Maybe get chrome mirror covers and have them painted black.. ;)

Thanks Brad!!
Speaking of jealous... how's the stereo sounding these days? :D
Well I got bored so I thought I'd try out this new Google Picasa program (I now host my pictures through that) -- I doctored 4 photos, it looks like one automatically updated itself in the original post, but not two other that were changed, hmm, oh well.

That's what i am worried about, glare. Cops are pricks here in Chicago so i don't want to risk it.
I will be trying this thought..

Actually never. I re-aimed the lamps though - a little more conservative I guess. Still looks like daytime when driving at night though :D
The WK headlamps have a damn good cutoff... I'll snap some pics on them against a wall. They do scatter like crazy left and right though.

I bought them from a vendor here, Xentec (username: tcm glx). Pretty darn easy to install too! Most of it is plug and play!
