Nah man you don't need those. You can do what 2 people did which were Scott and Fabian and upgrade the front end to a 08+ and buy the HID's projector headlights itself which LOOKS fantastic! I mean it's up to you.

for the 08 projectors.....do you have to swap out the whole front end...or just the headlights?

Bumper and Bumper mounting bracket and headlight's I think. Scott and Fab know. I just admire!

where can you buy 08 headlights

Chaoul1

car-part.com. If you don't get the 08' front bumper then you'll have a gap in between the bumper and headlight.

there is a how to for adding the 08-09 HID lamps on a 05-07 as well in the WK stickies. All u need are the 08 lasmps and 2 9006 HID relay harnesses. there will be a gap...I solved tht by making some "custom humps" at first...then i upgraded to the 08 SRt bumper. You should be able to get the lamps on car-part.com for about $600.....and they are worth every penny.

do all 08+ Grand cherokee models come with the projector style housing? I found one on ebay for $97 and can't tell if it is the projector style or not. I've never seen them up close so its hard to say.

That is not projector... and no, not all 08's+ come with them.

Projectors for the WK's have 3 little triangle that build up (looks like little supporters) the projector housing.

the ebay style projectors aren't true projectors, or atleast they dont have as good of a cut off as quality projectors.

You could also retrofit some projectors from any type of car that comes with them.. i used to have an rsx, and a lot of people on the rsx forum retro fitted s2000 projectors in rsx headlamps, because s2k projectors had one of the best cut offs, and rsx didnt come with projectors

I have been tossin this idea around, its not that easy to do, but it would be well worth it if everything worked out. There is also a company called retro solutions that does it, i dont know if they do other headlights though

I have a spare headlight laying in my garage from by blackout mod gone bad lol, i was thinking of using this to mock up the projectors

If you are unsure of what i'm talking about let me know and i can try to find some pictures form the rsx forum... or anyone that knows anyone that has done this to a jeep feel free to chime in

i think this would be really awesome for someone to do, the projectors are a little pricy especially not knowing if it will turn out good. they sell for around 200-250

anyone have any ideas?

I was searching around yesterday about this.

It doesn't look that difficult as long as you take your time and go slow. seems like something you'll want to play out in your head about 1,000 times before you actually begin. Think through EVERYTHING and I believe you'd be okay.

They sell everything you'd need to retrofit a set of projectors;

New DS1 HID Bulbs - $50
Shrouds/materials/parts - $70 or less
Re-sell extra set of headlamps - ($80)

haha, I've been itching for a new project... stereo or retrofit projectors are the top two on my list... well they are the list, lol.

It's something I'd like to do far more research on for sure. But I'll read some here and there and then see if I feel up to it. The only thing that sucks is that I'd be pioneering this. If I can't get it to work, then I'm out a set of headlamps ($100), probably only get 80% value re-selling the projectors and of course out whatever cost in materials I use. Not too bad and I am very confident that I could get this done correctly.

For the 05-07 guys that wanted to not have to buy the 08+ bumper to match up with the contour of the headlights, I'm sure it would be.

All depends on what kind of projectors you decide to retrofit, and how cheaply you can get them.
