Finally got them today!! Had to work late so these are being posted late but....oh well. AND yes i know i've broken the cardinal rule of pic whoring:THOU STALT NOT POST PICS OF THY JEEP WHEN DIRTY,but we've had 3 stright days of single digit temperature with wind and rain. It's expected to last 2-3 more. So these are from in the bay at work, under fluorescent light <bleck> I will post some nice clean/daylight pics asap. Don't forget to rep me up for this!!! lol
1)how they arrived from Wheelreplicas:

Yeah these are lookers. They look bigger than 20". Just wondering, its not clear from the pics, are these rims curved inwards towards the center like the original vipers or is it flat.

10-03-2009, 05:27 PM
Thanks guys!
Tires are Goodyear Eagle GTII's, sized 275/45/20. They seem to be just a hair larger in diameter than the stock ones.
The rims do have a bit of a curve inwards towards the center. I'd estimate it's about 1/2 to 3/4 inch total. Just enough to notice.
AND I will have better pics as soon as I get a chance and the weather co-operates. They actually look nicer when veiwed back from a distance and more directly from the side, rather than the 3/4 shots.

I want to see how much they would cost in black 22s when they come out.
Mike_Levy
10-03-2009, 06:41 PM
Need pricing on those. And the weight, because I'm sure they weigh more then the stock SRTs. Cast wheels always weigh more then forged, but by how much?
Do they clear the stock Brembos?

dont work over the brembos Mike. The SRT reps only weighed about 4 pounds more than the oem SRT's....but no idea on these.

Factory Reproductions came through on the only two wheels that count. Those look sick I'm jealous I saw a SRT-10 with the viper wheels and they do recess in a little.. adds character.

10-03-2009, 10:11 PM
Okay, I'm not understanding why they made these so they don't fit with the stock brakes? Especially since the Viper also uses fixed Brembos, so obviously the style isn't the problem. They obviously made them with the wrong offset or backspacing. That's a serious ****up on the manufacturers part. But then again, they also didn't make a wider set for the back, so their heads are up their asses anyway.
pkang21
10-03-2009, 10:38 PM
i like rims with lipsss but it looks cleannnn
05wkguy
10-03-2009, 11:53 PM
I don't know the weight of the rims alone, but acording to ups they are 72 pounds each with the tires. After slinging them and the stock wheel and tire combo around,i'd estimate they are about 10 pounds heavier each. Not the best but if i was really concerned about performance,i wouldn't have bought the v-6.
Pricing should be 899 for the 4, 20x9 rims alone and 1425 with the same tires as mine.
And mike,I'm sure there's several reasons why they couldn't make the wheels to fit over the stock Bembo's. They were starting with an exiting "pattern" from the LX platform cars, but they wanted to keep the same basic style and curvature to the face, but adjust the offset and bolt pattern. The Brembo's are much thicker around the rotor and would have required the rim to stick out more than it does (less positive offset) and if you look at my one pic, you'll see how they fit flush already, move it out any more and it will stick out beyond the fender, looking just plain stupid, as well as technically being illegal. The offset isn't wrong, it's what it needs to be to fit THAT style of rim on THAT vehicle. They will have to completely redsign the rim, remove any dish to the shape and possibly even make the spokes thinner. Not a simple retool of an existing mold.
These guys have been in business for quite a while and i'm pretty confident they know what they're doing. If it was that easy, they'd do it.
Mike_Levy
10-04-2009, 12:16 AM
So they don't fit the LX SRT8s either that means, because their brakes are identical to ours other then the bolt pattern.
Not buying that reasoning. To change the bolt pattern and offset they had to make new molds anyway, so theres no excuse for them not fitting and not offering a staggered rear 20x10. Like it or not, they either ****ed up or were too lazy to do it right.
Amazing how we fit 20x9s and 20x10s with 275/315 tires and they don't stick out and clear all the stock components, but this company couldn't do that. Doesn't matter how long they've been in business, they still don't know what they're doing, and they're proving it with these.

hey mike maybe they dont want to deal with all the srt8 guys horseshit and complaints and thoughts. just look at your 'requirements'.
so they said F THE SRT8, we are after the larger WK market. Period. End of thought.
Remember, 10K vs 500K market. And maybe, just maybe, when they make the 22's, they WILL fit the SRT8 by accident.
sort of like their srt8 replicas. they made the 20's. they have sold countless of them to WK owners. I doubt they sell many to srt8 owners..........

So they avoid the only GCs that are "supposed" to wear 20's. The only ones that would actually look "right" one these wheels.
I mean, lets face facts here. These wheels are very open. Showing the regular WK brakes through them looks bad. They're small and ugly. But showing the Brembos would look decent.
We're obviously not going to agree on this, so lets agree to disagree.:slapfight:

This probably conflicted with the economics of business. FR is in business to make a profit. I'm sure they did their homework before making these.

Finally, thanks man. I like the end result, its a very unique look for the WK. She does look very low. Are those the SRT8 Eibachs and Bilsteins ?

No,they are standard Eibachs and standard Bilsteins that i trimmed a bit. rests at 30 5/8" at the front and 31 3/4" at the back.

I think he trimmed the WK Eibachs...cause that baby is a lot lower than when I had the WK Eibachs on my Jeep

Yeah i trimmed the Eibach's,reason being it only lowered my truck 1/4" in the front initially(after 6 weeks of settling)....but i've ordered a set of SRT Eibach's as the ride is still too soft and bouncy. I plan to do the same thing but maybe not quite so low, about 1/2" higher in the front should be perfect. I'm the kinda guy that isn't afraid to try stuff like this until i find something i happy with.
