First off, holla at Elvis for getting me the invite to this forum.

So I went on a little offroad adventure and got a rock stuck between my backing plate/dustgaurd/whatever its called and my front left brake rotor. I got out the jack, took the wheel off and removed the rock (while not being directly under anything like I NEVER do). I usually always pull the E brake but recently it has become stretched and in need of adjustment so I didn't bother (stupid). the driveway is on a very slight incline and I didn't block the wheels so you knoooow what happened..

First and last time that jack was ever used!

And then of course after I got that all taken care of and the wheel back on, I broke the sh*t out of my locking lugnut:

So I will be checking out the local service and parts department very soon...

Hello Jeremy, welcome to JG!
I'm glad no one was hurt when the jack failed.
Is that your wheel lock that broke too?
Get yourself a nice hydraulic jack and keep it handy, you never know...

Never liked using the "widow maker" jacks, used it once and it kinda shifted on me while I was placing the jackstand. Since then I vowed never to use it again. Ever!
