Hi I'm back with another WJ, since the last WJ I have back in June I got a 2001 XJ with about 2500 into it that I sold for $3500 and then I picked up a CRD KJ in NJ for $2000 that I ended up with about $4500 into that I sold for 9k.

Now after paying some bills and a some mortgage payments I'm back into another Jeep, picked up this 03 WJ for $3000 today:

Nice! What are your plans for it? I suppose you don't know everything that may be wrong with it yet if you haven't torn into it. Good luck, looking forward to hearing about your adventures!

Just flipping it. Hail damage is the main thing, I'll see how bad it is once I actually see it, hopefully there is not a slew of other problems I need to fix, blend doors, window regulators etc etc, those are the things that just kill me.

Got my plates and title today, theres another $150 down, yesterday I vacuumed it out, its actually pretty clean on the inside now without a bit of dog hair and such in the interior, I still need to find a rear cargo area tire cover, thats gonna be fun, its about the first thing to go at the junkyard because people take them to lay on when working under a vehicle, out of all the WJs I checked I only found two, one was the wrong color and the other was the right color but had been beat all to hell, looks like someone dropped a tranny on it and then spilled fluid all over it, I wasn't sure it was even worth messing with.

I also managed to start messing around with buffing down the headlights, its gonna take a lot of sanding to get through the pitting, but I ought to be able to get them down to looking pretty good, not as good as new mind you, but at ~$130 for a pair of new headlights this will be cheaper and still look pretty good. The chrome grill is pretty beat so I'm gonna replace it with a new one.

Otherwise there are lots of fine scratches all over it, I'm gonna go around and buff them down with a glaze, ought to sharpen it up quite a bit.

Haven't messed around with seeing if I can improve the dents, overall they really aren't that bad, the hood is the worst of it.

well at least your and honest seller.
might want to mention the viper system

i think you have the skid plat options (i believe i see the TC skid) and tow packed on the jeep since i see tow hooks and hitch

a cheap set of fogs/cross bars and tires with more meat might help sell it, its a niece loaded Laredo

That sure is a weird Laredo.Definately a factory order with the side air bags, adjustable pedals, heated seats, etc.Poor original owner could have had a Limited for what he paid in options.Should sell well.Nice job again!

I did mention the viper, its just kinda buried in text. Same with the tow package.

Forgot to mention the tow hooks and while I poked around checking it out underneath I didn't really remember to look for skids.

I try to be honest: Personally I would rather just put everything in the ad, it can be a lot to read and many people don't read it all but it helps from keeping me repeating myself. I would rather someone see everything BEFORE they come to see it, rather than see it and then see all the faults. I spend so much time showing vehicles to buyers that I want to weed out as many of the tire kickers as possible.

Ya meatier tires would help it sell, but at what cost? Even listing it at $6100, which is below BBV for a vehicle in "good" condition, which also doesn't take in account the extra options, I'm not expecting to get my full asking, people are gonna try and talk me down. If someone walked up with 5600 right now they would be driving it home, so if I dropped $500 in tires to make it look better I would need to get the $6100 out of it to make the same profit. Ya maybe it would make it sell quicker but thats a lot of unknown.

Ya I thought it was kinda oddly optioned too, and then given all those options it doesn't have the auto dim mirror, I have one I could throw on but I don't think I would see any money back from that.

Hopefully it sells quick, maybe with thanksgiving week people will have more time to look for vehicles to buy......that or more people will be doing other things and not caring to look for something to buy. It's a toss up.

Ya I'm not really sure why but I usually just list off options and new parts in a bulleted list, I guess on this one I didn't really do much mechanically so I skipped that, but I ought to make a nice list of options to make it look better.

I wish I could find good tires in the $200 range here, but its a very active 4WD area so good deal like that don't happen.

i got you, i live in NYC and no AT triers new or used around.
but AS tiers used in good shape go fast. my fathers car need 2 tire and took me a few months to get a decent used pair. but i saved a bit over $100 to spend on another thing the car needed lol

We have them on craigslist here all the time. I bought 4 Jeep Orbitek rims with 235/65R17 tires (about 40%) for $100 here.
