make sure you clean the rims really really well before applying this for proper bonding

You'll want to polish them first, get them looking as good as you can and then go with any old paste wax (a few thin coats) to protect them. Remember, wax does not brighten at all, just protects.

after washing you should claybar the rims before you polish them! that will remove any contaminants on them that the soap did not get off!!!

whatver polishes, sealants and waxes you use on your paint is fine for the wheels.....

You're supposed to wax your wheels? Huh.....

Well, it's optional Ryan. But it does make cleaning them much easier - especially if you seal the backs too... :)

I figured but I've been waxing everything else on my Jeep I'm kicking myself for not ever doing the wheels.

so to protect the inside of the wheel from brake dust damage etc., just apply a wax?
I'd like to apply something this weekend. I'm in small town Canada so shopping is limited to Canadian Tire, couple auto parts stores. Let me know what you guys suggest.

I suggest a good sealant...and then a good carnuaba. I like the #21 Meguiers topped with p21s concours carnuaba. Sealants last about 10x longer than waxes is the reason I say that

if you can't find #21 and don't want to wait for shipping you can use nxt wax 2.0 bc that is a sealant not a wax:)

For the wheels I recommend using a sealant over the wax. Waxes have a lower melting point so they don't protect for as long and they're not great against high temperature brake dust. The Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant - 8 oz (http://www.detailedimage.com/Poorboys-World-M1/Wheel-Sealant-P40/8-oz-S1/) or any quality sealant will work. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I can only recommend products I have tried. I have had excellent protection using the #21 Meguiers sealant and #26 Meguiers Carnuaba and the P21s Carnuaba
