2007 Jeep Compass Control Arm

Hi I have a 2007 Jeep Compass that I love. I purchased it this year and haven't had any issues until now. I took it in for service and was told that the control arm needs to be replaced. The guy also informed me that this occurs with just about every Jeep that comes in, hence, he had the parts in stock. I googled it and it looks like there was a recall on the control arm bolts for Jeep Compass; however, when I called my local Jeep Service dept. and gave them my VIN# my vehicle was not under warranty or a part of the recall. I do not have the $800+ to have my vehicle fixed at this time. Any suggestions?? Oh, and Hello Everyone! :)

On my 2007 Dodge Caliber ( same control arm ) They failed inspection :thumbsup:dealer wanted 1200.00 dollers to change them. got a left and right control arm from Doorman Parts for only 129.00 each. Parts in stock at V I P AUTO. only three bolts hold it in. It took about one hour for each side to do.

I had the same problem on the control arm on my Caliber. The dealership charged me $800 to replace them also.
