View Full Version : Retractable License Plate Holder

Although I don't have it installed anymore I thought I would show you guys what it looks like and to give ideas to people looking for a alternative to the standard mounted plate...

I purchased it from Nino Sport but I have seen Swift Motorsports made their own but the price at Nino's is cheaper and free shipping!I drilled 3 self tapping screws into the bottom of the bumper but it's out of sight and I think better than 3 holes in the front of the bumper.

I have the Ninosport one also. I'm going to get their electric model in the future.

lets say someone does this who already has the front license plate. how would one fill/hide the holes that are already there?!?!

Gum??? Maybe some kind of bond and touch up paint. it's only 2 holes. I think...:confused:

Mine it is three. Two in each top corner and one in the middle at the bottom.

I remember that Geevis(Chris) had his plate hole filled in and fixed but I don't know what or how he did it but I am guessing it was through a body shop.

Yeah but we get pulled over depending on the cop's mood here in illinois without a front plate. lol.

Local town cops haven't said anything in the year I've had it. Nothing from NYS Troopers. Nothing from NJ State Police. I've been in Queens, the Bronx, Manhattan. I'd rip a cop a new one for pulling me over for no front plate. They really would have nothing better to do. I'd have a field day on my court date. Most judges see it as a waste of time for him, the officer in question, and me (you) - unless it's speeding or a serious (moving) violation.

I seem to run into asshole cops. I've gotten a couple of tint tickets in the last few months and each cop told me "I pulled you over because of the tints". I told each cop "whats a matter, didnt meet the quota yet?" I got these answers "Nope and Dont be a smart ass." LOL

I've seen those before. I once got 7 tickets from 2 cops on the same stop. I think it was failure to stop at a stop sign, no license, no registration, no insurance, no front plate, no muffler, and a fix it tinted tails. But that was 2+ years ago.

ive had 5 tickets in 1 stop
im guessing the cop was super happy cause he pulled over me and 2 of my friends (3 cars total) and each of us got 5 tickets

Thats crazy. I would have fought all of them. I've gotten pulled over and the cop take my acid reflux medication after searching my car.

John, why did you end up takin' it off?

I ended up just hard mounting a new bracket,I forgot a few times to lift the plate up and I would get tickets.I've gotten 11 tickets total from the department of revenue.

I bought the slim bracket to,so it kinda looks like just the plate is mounted with no bracket...kinda slick lol.
