Jeep breaks down, dealer is called, dealer confirms Jeep is under warranty, dealer sends truck to pick up Jeep.

22 DEC :

Tech looks at Jeep, deems torque converter the culprit, begins search for new part, will also look into transmission to see if anything else is broken.

TO BE CONTINUED! :D

I have read about it a bunch on the other site, talked to Tom and he told me it was a known issue with the 07's. Hopefully it's taken care of.

Thanks! I'm sure it's going to be fine, I know it's in good hands at that dealer. Our point of contact at the Faricy Brothers has actually come to the house and helped us work on our WJ doing a Overland axle swap. He is also mod friendly!

With this snow, something weird also happened with my Jeep. Today the ESP BAS light came on for a minute and then went off.

I wrote it off as a hiccup.

Dealer said the problem was the torque converter - parts are on order & it is being covered under warrenty.

They said it should be finished the 2nd.

Oh good , did they tell you what might of cause the converter to go bad ?

Something on the lines of it can be a bad part from the factory? I did not talk with them - just hearing what my roomate told me, I'm trying to get my 94 Grand Cherokee road ready for the meet on the 27th lol.

I'll post up exactly what parts they ordered and all the work done once they finish.

Also trying to get them to install my SLP Pulley - waiting on a quote for that.

Update:

Roomate went up to snag the tail lights to send to Daniel to be tinted, the part the dealer needs is up in Denver - he also talked with the tech who is going to fix the Jeep and he is going to go through the transmission and make sure nothing else is broken along with fixing the torque converter.

Our friend at the dealer has pretty much taken charge and put the SRT8 at the top of the list, looks like its going to be a great dealer experience!

She is home now - rebuilt transmission & new torque converter. Once I get home i'll look through the paperwork and see if anything else was done. But all work was covered under factory warrenty. SWEET! :D

Happy 2010 everyone!

Is this the Faricy Brothers in Colorado Springs off Woodman and Austin Bluffs? I have been looking for a guy who is mod friendly and would be willing to program my fogs to stay on when the Hi beams are on. Havent found someone who has said they would do it. Glad to hear everything was covered under warranty. My jeep had the same problem right at 30k miles. They did a complete tranny overhaul, new torque converter and covered it all under warranty.

Well I was out of state while it broke and while it was at the dealer so nothing I could do but wait. I took it for a short drive today (tail lights are getting tinted) and even though I have yet to put the MHP CMR tune back in the Jeep feels amazing.

I think it has been fawked up since I bought it, it has never shifted so smooth and now it actually drops back into "D" from auto stick after its held to the right - I sat in the driveway amazed that it worked (it used to be picky about if it would reset to "D" or not)

I'm super happy, seems like a new truck.
