Hey guys I got a K&N cold air intake for my jeep 4.7 that a guy got rid of because he sold his jeep, I got it for 130.00. Anyway the thing looks brand new but he had an 03 grand cherokee and for the 03 you have to cut 6 inches off the vent hose to make it work. (says on instructions and his is cut). Im talking about that little rubber hose that connects to the middle of the air tube. Do you think I can just put it back together and tape it with electrical tape. I dont see a problem with doing it since there wont be any pressure to blow the tape off. What do you guys think?

here is a picture of the rubber hose that was cut and now in two pieces. Im pretty sure Il need to tape it back together when I install it. Think this will be ok to do??

Go to like Home Depot or something and see if you can find another piece like that. If you can tape it up then go for it.

Vacuum Hose. I think that's the only hose there is.

Just go to a hardware store and get a new piece of hose. Taping it will work but but won't look good.

Are you sure it won't fit? Have you tried it?

that's the breather hose. just go to any hardware or auto supply store and buy a 2-3 ft hose with the same interior diameter. it's only going to be a couple of dollars.

no i havent tried it yet dreamer, i just thought it wouldnt fit because the directions only mention that you have to cut 6 inches off for the 03 models only.

I'll go measure it for you right now. Mine is a H.O, but it shouldn't be different. I can't imagine that it would only be for 03's. Did the change it back in 04 to the way it was in 99-02? Weird...

Measurements to follow..

The hose in mine is 5 1/2 inches.

Try it and see what needs to be done.
