Chris

I guess this would be the place to ask.. lol
Anyone use seat covers in their ride? I work construction, so naturally the seats get dirty. I have the little green from bissle that im going to use this weekend for the stains and whatnot, but I wanted to get some washable seat covers as well. I was wondering if they made any that were specifically made for the GC?

I have never seen a seat cover that fit good unless its tailored to the vehicle. But your wanting a cover you can pull on and off right?

I'd like something like that.
I hate coming back from the gym or basketball and having to use a towel that just falls down.
Maybe something that just is a simple L-shaped design and can easily be placed/removed.
Hmm, now I might have to try and make something, lol.

Matt i didn't know you were into sewing! LOL..
But Scott, yes I would like something that can be taken off pretty easily to wash my stank from on the weekends :) I might just have to go to autozone or pep boys and check out the generic ones. They are not for style, I just don't want my seats to go all to shit once I clean them up real nice with the little green!

Wow this is great. I like Matt hate getting in the truck after the gym and using a towel. I've been looking fir something like that too. Durable, easy to remove, washable. I scotchguarded the suade parts of the seats but I don't trust that do do the job much.
Matt i didn't know you were into sewing! LOL..
haha, 8th grade Home Ec - I made a pillow (a sweet pillow!), so I think I can figure this out, LOL.
Maybe I'll start getting some designs/prototypes going.

We cooked shit in Home Ec. and had flour fights, but we never sew' anything..
I have been looking around and all the custom fit shiz is in the $100+ range.. I can't see myself paying that much just to get it dirty!

Yeah, we did some cooking too. That's when I found out that you can't put metal in the microwave, lol.

Wow this forum is 2 for 2 with me and things i want to do for the exact reasons w/o me even having to ask. i also work construction and i have been looking for a seat cover to protect my seat.
I found some on ebay a while back for my ex's tj.Steer clear, they are neoprene but within 6 months all the seams were tearing. and they claimed custom fit, they fit like shit and were not snug at all.
I am goona keep looking for mine, but i may just get some Autozone cheapos and call it a day.

I just spent this morning out in the rain doing some land scaping for my boss, it was so hard to get in to my jeep wearing muddy wet clothes. (let me go home early for being a champ)
I am all over finding a seat cover now, but i want one that will last.

The only thing I don't like about those is that they are a pain to put on because they have the two straps that go around and you need to do that in the rear seat area. (at least the ones I had back in the day were like that).
I'd like something that can just be set on top of the seat and then quickly thrown in the rear cargo area for storage.

Cool, keep us updated.
Now something like this would be awesome - and likely have to be home made.
Get some 1/2"-3/4" foam, some plastic (like garbage bag material) and then some sort of cloth or neoprene. Sew it together as it looks below.... and voila!
Cheap, effective and easily installed/uninstalled.

I'd also like to get something that keeps the seatbelt sweat free. I hate that!

you could just not wear it until your not sweaty.
you could just not wear it until your not sweaty.
If my shirt is soaked from sweat, I'm not going to wait a few hours for my shirt to dry so I can keep my seat belt dry on a 15 min drive home. I usually toss a new shirt on, but it still gets through.

Cant believe you guys from cooking ec. didnt think about this. Go buy a long cooking apron tie it on the metal part of the headrest and call it a day.

i think that would absorb the sweat and get to the seat.. for example coming home from snowboarding is a 1 1/2 hour ride...

I went to the parts store last night. Not only were they only sold as sets of 2 (i only want 1) but they were so cheap. $40 does not get you much these days. I can get custom fit for my jeep seat covers made by a local shop for about $150 a seat. I think i may just do the apron idea.

I was thinking about making this exact thing for the same reasons. Coming back from the gym, I don't want gym funk all over my nice seats. I planned on using a waterproof, breathable softshell fabric with a deep "pocket" at the top that would go over the headrest (that way they wont slip down). Easy on, easy off means you can wash it whenever you want without any hassle.
If there's interest I'll start production lol
