They say the hoods are still in development for our jeeps. The website might just be out of date I'm not sure

Please don't put a Trans Am replica hood on a Jeep. :p I'll try and touch base with Paulie Pauls!

A lot of money has been invested. So I don't see why the manufacturer would scrap the mold.

robpp
06-14-2009, 02:36 PM
I have been begging Paul. he told me his has been real busy, something with school. and other stuff.

but go ahead chris. i agree about the mold. maybe it was the initial price that the vendor cant meet. I would pay about 1500 for a CF one. Maybe 1200 for a fibergalss but i prefer a CF.

how much weight did that lose?

boo fiber glass for the loss ,fiber glass heavy unless it's very thin ,but you could make it your self and use your stock hood to make a mold so if it breaks all you have to do is just put some fiber glass in there top it off with some resin let it dry an whala! - new hood.:)

Why would anyone want a steel hood?

The current WK hood is made out of lightweight aluminum. Steel will increase weight and raise precious 1/4 mile times. :p

EDIT: Just saw their "in development" hood is still in development. And sounds like it has been for several years. :D Vaporware. But my point still stands...

I like the hood. Especially the carbon fiber hood on Paulie's silver jeep.

Tom's painted version looks good too. I wonder what the weight difference is from stock to fiberglass to carbon?

Dylans3960ccs

I think that the painted hood would look better on an older SRT.

When I was talking with Paulie about the hood, he said they were working on installing the washer jets on the backside (rear/closest to windshield) of the hood.

You know you want one!!!

I have the carbon fiber hood on order. Checked with an auto body shop for the cost of painting a fiberglass hood to match my brilliant black. Would end up being a hundred bucks more than the cf.

It makes me laugh how much Tom and my Jeeps look alike. Right down to the antenna. Guess I need to get a hood and have it painted to further cement the twin-ship between our Jeeps. LOL

Jason, I was thinking the same thing. Ported intake manifold and TCM and we'll have pretty much the same mods. BTW: I can fix you up with them.:D:D:D

Oh and don't you worry Tom - you will be seeing that order from me soon. Just waiting for you to cut me a screaming deal on it like you have with everything else. I need to send my intake tube back to BWoody and have it re-powdercoated so that it will match the manifold when I get that. AND, I need to paint those calipers you sent me and get those swapped out!

I've just been so busy lately, and it's not even work anymore. I just moved into a new place so I am still getting settled in.

We need to talk and catch up sometime. Give me a call when you're free, big guy!

Tom, why haven't we talked lately. Have you moved on to better friends?

I need an intake... Maybe that will peak your interest....

And that damned SRT logo on your lower valance. Throw that in on the intake purchase and you've got a deal.
