So after my ordeal with sandpaper-like finish after 7 years of weather i decided to look into the claybar. After lots of good suggestions and ideas i went to wal-mart and got the meguiars clay bar kit. It really did make the paint as smooth as glass like brand new. Amazing. And i thought i was going to screw up the paint or something but i didnt. :D

Pics of the 03 WJ, followed by a before and after claybar and wax.

I think it came out pretty well from what it was. The paint does not feel like sand paper and it is like brand new again. I peronally like the onyx green peral coat, kinda rare but my mom hates the color. I like how in the sunlight its a green blue ish where as in the shade and at different angles its grey. I think its pretty cool.

hey mike it came out nice, what wax did you use? With swirls like that you might want to spend some time with meg's swirlX (the new one) to try to smooth those out since the paint finish is fresh from the clay

Long story short, moms wj sleeps outside and mines inside cause i dont drive much at all with no job. She does not want to drive around my jeep and she makes alot of short trips around town here and there. She prefers it outside. Our driveway also isnt large enough for my dad to pull his intrepid easily around a car in the driveway like i can with my jeep. So i get the garage.

There are a lot of jeeps here and there at least that i see everyday in Chicago. I have only seen one other Limited H.O. in onyx green. And that is the only onyx green one i have seen anyhow to date.
