View Full Version : Fuel Saver Mode display on 08 WK???

So I was reading on wkjeeps.com and noticed that a display for Fuel Saver mode is new to 08...WHERE IS IT??? I want to know when this is activated but I cannot find this infamous "display"!!! I am assuming Fuel Saver mode is when MDS is activated? Any info is appreciated...I can hear the exhaust change at 40mph but I want to know visually and not via exhaust guess...

my dad's aspen has it. ur mpg should say "fuel saver" when in 4 cylinder mode

I beleive it's only on the hemis

Its prolly only while the MDS is active.

Yep...it displays FUEL SAVER above your current MPG when the MDS is activated (looking forward to setting the cruise based on that for the next trip). Pretty crazy when you really try to keep the MDS activated; I just went 20 miles on a highway that is hilly and varies speeds from 25-45 and was able to keep it activated at about 30-32 miles an hour...I thought it only kicked in at 40 but it will go well below 35 if you are "gentle"...when I finally got close I had to open her up and totally negated the good I did over the last 20 miles...WOT 1st Tow/Haul ESP off, just for you Joe!

The "fuel saver" is the cruise control at 50 mph to 60 mph. ;)

if u keep constant speed mds will kick in... i've had mds kick on while doing 80 in my dad's truck

My "fuel saver" is around 55 mph, pushing... 20 mpg! :eek: I have proof!

I got it to kick in on my way to work below 25 mph...I hope I can have FS mode at 75+...I am going to Vegas 7/17

yeah bro just keep a steady foot on the gas and if your rpms stay the same then it will kick in into FS mode at any speed. i've done it at 80 mph

Seriously, what about setting the cruise control and then dialing it back 1 mph? I know that worked on GM's DOD.

Starting in 2007 the engineers realized that they needed to utilize MDS more so they widened the band from 40mph-60mph to 20mph-70/80(?)mph. I've noticed it working within the new bandwith.

Learn to take your foot off the pedal for a second after accelerating to speed, it will give the computer a second to activate mds then just feather the throttle from there. There's also cruise control...
