So after 6 years of my father using the intrepid we got our first check engine light. It is the 3.5L HO and has 61k miles on it. Runs awesome still other than this hiccup. After flicking the ignition on and off three times it yields the code P0344. My dad has the 7/70 added care so hopefully everything is covered under it. Would anyone be so kind that has a Chrysler service manual or something to bring light on this issue before i bring it to the dealer tomorrow. Thanks yall.

a check engine light is an emissions or sensor

I have a feeling it might be a sensor of some sort cause the car engine isn't smooth at times. Maybe something with the timing of the firing or something would possibly do this. Sometimes on acceleration from a stop it will like "buck" or "jitter" and sometimes it don't.

I would search that code on google or an intrepid forum and see what comes up

Yeah searching some intrepid forums suggested that it was a camshaft position sensor. Tomorrow to the dealer it goes.

I used to have an 01 R/T. I believe changing the CPS is a pretty easy job, and the part isn't too expensive at all (around $60 or $70 IIRC).
