What are you guys using to replace your old batteries? I know a few had issues with the batteries we have after 3-4 years, i am running my jeep with the stocker (2005) and i am a little concern, i drive every two weeks to St louis MO from chicago (580 miles both ways) and i pass threw miles of farm land which are very dark and lonely at night.
I have been looking into ACdelco and Interstate and Red tops, any advice?

Optima Red Top FTMFW bro!

I threw one in my mazda 6 after about 6 trips to the dealership for dead batteries, and after 3 years now I have yet to have another battery related issue!

I think I paid $180 for mine, but damn was it worth it. Might I mention the dimming of lights when my system was slamming went away with the new battery as well :)

Did you use a Mopar OE?

For the abuse i put my jeep under, i should just invest in a Optima since it's known to handle vibrations, the only problem is the mixed reviews, some swear by it some curse it to hell.. i guess i can always return it if i don't like it.

When I had my Jeep, I was using Diehard gold. I was pushing a lot of power from the car to and the battery never failed on me. I think I got it for $110 with a 36 month warranty from sears.

I had an Optima yellow-top in my 02 Dakota and that thing was a workhorse! I had 1 15" sub, 1200 watt mono amp and a 500 watt 4 channel sony amp for door speakers, cb radio, radar detector and 7" lcd and I never had one battery related issue in over 4 years...I had to change b/c my lights were dimming when I had the system turned up, but that all went away with the optima. Dont have any bad things to say about the oem though...

First one Optima yellow in Tahoe after a year died they need battery out to test for a few days. Who can do that..... I buy another battery Optima yellow the give me back battery saying nothing wrong. I gave my friend the battery for his 71 Monte it gives him problems too.I sell Tahoe after 3 months leaving second battery. Then I buy a battery another yellow top for my pickup go to Vegas for 1 week battery dead not even a month old get it replaced sell that truck to my friend. He has problems less than a year so they want to test battery again so he went to Sears and bought a new battery. He said its not worth replacing that battery how you suppose to give up battery for a few days so in the garbage it went.

Online today about 4 hrs. scouring info about different batteries. Websites, forums, etc. Since I'm upgrading my audio system, have 1 Focal 600w powering my JL subwoofer, going to get another 400w amp and focal speakers. Looked at Optima, Odyssey/stinger, Kimetik, Powermaster and Batcap. I read where too many people have had bad luck with Optima's, the brand I was thinking of getting (yellowtop). Some of these others are pretty pricey, but I look more to performance over cost. It's pretty hard to make a decision with all these others, but I think I'll go with the Kimetik 1800 or 2000. My deciding decision was good reviews and basically cause they're blue in color and I like that.

Good for you dan...I am totally envious of your ride and if I was your valet I would steal it :) Please post an update on battery performance.

I am disappointed that the Optima's are getting bad reviews; like I said earlier I had a yellow top in my Dakota that was pushing 1600+ watts, cb, radar, loudspeaker and in-dash monitor for over 4 years. I guess I too will need to do research should the time come...

Good thing I can't afford a valet, LOL! I'm going a different route with my plans. Keeping the stock battery, but adding a Kinetik HC600 near the amps in the back. Went to a different car audio store and decided to go with JL HD600 amp and JL C5 speakers for doors and dash. I'll post this in the right section when system complete.
