I'm thinking about lifting my WK and thought I would start a thread for reviews on lift kit brands.

What kind of lift do you have? How does it ride? How does it compare to other lifts you may have had? How much did it cost? etc.

I have a RK lift here but it's spoken for.

superlift is the way to do it right

mine rides AWESOME on and off road

i run 80mph on the highway on the regular and have hit speeds of 110 with no issues

off road i was able to tackle blue trails w/ no problems at all. i plan on pushing it a little more this year

If you have the cash go with BDS, one step above the Superlift- Ya i said it. Old Man Emu is the nicest medium priced lift and Rough Country is the best budget boost.

In my opinion, OME is the way to go. Very capable off road and road manners are awesome. Im hoping to swap my setup out with this kit in the future.

I don't really plan on doing any off-roading. I'm going for the lift just for looks really. Does that make any difference in your selections of lifts?

So, how do you figure? Both companies have been around long enough to fab the best in every aspect. The only reason BDS is different is because of there adjustable control arms which is nice but way more expensive and unnecessary. The SL is a proven kit, and share many parts with the BDS.
Knuckles are made by the same company and both do the exact same thing.
SL has the EGR which is also compatible with the BDS, and if they are a step higher, why didn't they come out with there own EGR instead of telling there customers to buy the SL/AEV EGR?

IMO there is no comparison between the two, they are both equal in quality and durability.

In that case, you will be happy with RRO, RC, RK, and Daystar. I would go RRO just because i had it and loved it.

Acid, yes both have been around and both are trusted companies. I said BDS was superior for two reasons; reason one is what you mentioned with the adjustable control arms. The control arms on the SL kit are more prone to get hung up on rocks, obstacles, etc.. The next reason which is a make or break for me is that BDS offers a lifetime warrenty on all parts of their lift with a no questions asked policy, no matter if you break them on the trail or due to normal wear. That alone makes the BDS kit superior.

Im sure if BDS wanted they could have developed a EGR module that would have done the exact same thing as AEV's, but whats the point if one is already out there? Why waste the money on R&D especially since its for such a limited crowd.

I know you have the Super Lift and its is a very nice kit, but c'mon that BDS setup is just that much more badass. :slapfight:

Dont purchase RRO's kit, its a poly spacer kit- enough said. Go with a steel budget boost like Rough Country.

from what i have read/heard - and i have NO experience w/ the BDS but the way to go is superlift front and BDS rear.

That was my original plan, SL seems more affordable as well.
I am curious on what premium shocks they use.. The only thing i would use from the BDS would be the rear lower control arm and that would be it.
From Rusty's kit, I would use there new adjustable track bar.
