anyone know where i can get small wheel spacers?
I want to get away from the "bolt" but i dont want anywhere near the hugeness that is the 1.5" spacer...
is there such a thing as a 1/2" spacer? are they safe?

any spacer like that means less threads on the wheel studs.
i would never consider anything more than 1/4. even that is tight. i had 1/8 and it seemed like the wheel lug didnt have many threads left.
if you arent using a adapter spacer that has new studs, then 1/4 MAX. or get longer wheel studs.

You can always get new longer studs to help with the thread issue, i did that to the XJ.
Pep boys, auto zone have those spacers.

ohh so i can just pick up a 1/4" spacer set from a local parts store?
that will save me then... all i need is a small spacer to escape "the bolt"

most any decent tire place can replace wheel studs if that becomes necessary if you cant tackle it yourself.

i dont know the pitch but ours are 1/2 inch x pitch x length
they can be a bitch to change. they are usually press fit.
let me see what the manual says....

it shows some tool in the manual they use to press them out with. you have to remove rotor and caliper and wheel of course

.... 1/4" spacer it is... haha
If they are only like 10-15$ each like i see online, i will do the 1/2" when i get time to do this project myself.
Thanks rob and acid. I will update tomorrow.

Just cut the upper ball joint bolt like I did to fit my winter BFG's

Cutting the bolt makes it hard to get the a-arm reattached at the top! There are lots of threads warning about this problem. When I put my lift on I realized how useful "the bolt" is.
But on the subject of thread with spacers; does this mean that Spidertrax would require longer wheel studs? Or do they design the product as a simple 1-part install?

spidertrax comes with studs. typically dont see them smaller than 1" and bigger.
