If anyone has a 4.7 with the air box thingy removed between the throttle body and the air tube/plenum would you be willing to take measurements for me of the Throttle body OD and the OD of the air box thingy where it connects to the intake.

I am going to remove the box thingy and replace it with a piece of tube and a coupler.

dont bother if you dont have it handy, i will just go disassemble everything and measure it myself, but for my lazy ass for now if you have it off and could measure it quick that would be oh so sick.

about 3 and 1/4' inside diameter......

as far as the silicone you need...I think you need to go with 3" so the sleeve fits over tightly

Ok, so if i get a 3" tube with a 90* and 1 silicone coupler at 3.25 i should be fine, the AFE kit came with 1 silicone coupler already so i only need 1 more.

Any suggestions as to what/where to get the tube and the silicone coupler before i go to local shops?

I looked at your stuff, and it all looks really nice but its waaay to expensive for my budget for this tiny little mod i want to do.

I need 1 or 2 3.5" ID bulge coupler in black, and i need a 3.5" OD 90* elbow and possibly a piece of 3.5" ODstraight all black. And that gonna cost close to $100 just to remove this damn air box. I think those are the right diameters, i have to double check.

Unfortunately i am gonna have to look in to doing this with stuff from local shops prolly non of it will be silicone but i will see what i can come up with.

one thing Kyle, because the tube is so long from the TB out, my k&N has a u shaped support. it has to be supported soewhere buyt the motor, not the body.

you can sde where the clamp is about the middle of the tube.....i think you'll need some kind of support from the motor. then the filter end is not rally connected to anything.

Thats a good point you make there. I have some stuff around, i am sure i can rig up a support for it. I can prolly use the mount for the old air box to support the tube.

I was really pissed yesterday. I went to the U pull and i found a 99 wj 4.7. It had the K&N heat shield but no intake tube. I could have deff modded that intake tube to work for me.

I prolly should have just bought the K&N intake last week instead of the AFE kit but its too late now. I did not know that the K&N removes that air box when installing it.

I am going to look for some parts this week and see what i can come up with and make it look good, i dont want it to look half assed.
