About three months or so ago i had an HID bulb fail and replaced it with a spare, ran that for a while then bought new replacements from mobilehid.com. When they got to my house i left them n the box because i had ordered some gen three projectors and figured id just install directly into them and not bother with the stock housings, which i did.
So on the way home tonight i noticed that one seemed like it was sweeping from side to side and then i pulled in the driveway and sure enough it was. Looked like the centerspot on the driver side was shifting from side to side every now and again. So i ran in to get the camera to show you, but when i got back out the shifting was gone and instead it looks like (to me ) what i describe as the HID supernova...

Then Purple

Then the bulb fails completely.. i email mobilehid about a warranty replacement and hope they 'll send me a new bulb because these are only THREE weeks old.. next time i buy bulbs i will buy phillips only and stop recomending mobilehid. this is my second set in a year...

That's what happens with cheap Chinese kits. Switch the bulbs from either side to rule out the ballast first.

How much for the Philips at xenondepot.com? Im a little P.O.'d because I thought thats what the Xtreme 6500K came with, since thats whats listed on their chart. I didnt pay attention I guess and read the whole thing on the ordering page, so more pissed at myself....

phillips doesnt make 9006 HID bulbs...so you are only getting phillips rebased bulbs in 9006

Rebased, as in they took a philips bulb and popped it on a 9006 base? And thats what I have already? When I was looking for HIDs in the beggining all I heard was that philips were the best bulbs to get, quality and lasting the longest.
How come on justforjeeps.com I noticed they sell one HID bulb for like $125. Thats insane if its the right price, i'd rather just keep buying xtreme kits if thats the case.
Just thought of another question, sorry to thread jack. For the WK fogs, will the volt kits work, or is a relay harness needed also? I want HID fogs now, these LED bulbs are bright when looking straight on but do not put out any usable light out in front of the car.

yes....phillips bulbs on a 9006 base....pretty much what you have. Phillips are the best if you get them in an HID size like d1s, d2s, d4s and so on.
The bulbs on justforjeeps are probably oem d1s bulbs and you know how oem is priced.
The volt kits will work on the fogs...but.....(i know...always a but) a few members had to have a relays on the fogs...but....most didnt.

Whats d1s bulbs?
Im going to just grab the volt kit then, if they are good quality and from the chart they seem to be the same as the xtreme kit minus the relay harness in difference. I did notice my drivers HID flicker last night once, but havent noticed ever since I spliced in another grounding wire off the existing which seemed to fix it. I just dont have the time, or patience to try to figure why it was flickering in the first place. i still have my dual turn LEDs that arent working properly, my car interior is ripped apart right now while im doing my stereo still, have my eibachs downstairs trying to figure how I can get my spring compressor to work on them, my tail LEDs still arent working right blowing the brake fuse. I have too many things going on, and this rain is not helping me.

d1s is just another type of HID OEM bulbs. My oem 08 HID lamps use them. heres a pic...

Scottina06

so no email back from mobilehid, no surprise there.. which pisses me off more than anything. so i guess ill see what happens tonight if it lights up or not and ill just have to put a spare back in there until a new one shows up. xenondepot doesn't look like the sell replacement bulbs, just kits, so ill have to find some place else to get them from

I've had good responses with xenon depot, im sure they would sell you some bulbs if you tell em your from here. If they dont, post it everywhere how they refuse to take your money. lol. When I first installed mine xtreme kit had some trouble, and they got right back to me all the time. def recommend buying from them.

Oh, and be sure to write a nice thread if that mobilehid doesnt get back to you, to warn everyone that they suck.

you need to look better...xenondepot sells all kinds of bulbs. i got my 6000k d1s bulbs form there and my wifes 6000K d4s bulbs from there. I think you have a ballast problem or a grounding problem

well i swapped out the purple bulb with my older 5000k bulb and 2 things. 1st is that the old bulb wont fit in the new housing  like i can push it in but cant turn it, it just fits snugly in the opening, strange, and second is that it lights up the right color (for 5000k) so i kinda ruled out the ballast, but tomorrow ill might swap the ballasts and see if it changes the other bulb so thats why i dont think its that but ill definitely check it.
and scott you were right, the do sell bulbs individualy, finding them was the trick, i tried a search and all i get was the kits.. here is a link (http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Xtreme_HID_Components_s/31.htm) to the bulbs if anyone wants it
