ok...tell me about it...I cannot find any explanations about this mod, only sigs and statements they have it. Where do I buy one? Notice any difference with tuner/intake/exhaust?

I bought mine from airram.com. I really like it. It gives my baby v6 a nice little boost. You can really tell a difference when passing other vehicles. I haven't decided if it improves MPGs or not though. I think it does slightly but I have been a lot heavier on the pedal since I installed it so I don't really know.

I love mine. well worth the $$$. I can see , hear and feel the extra gains, but I'm still trying to figure out if I get better miles.

I noticed better throttle repsonse and improved mid range power especially with the ac on. My 4.7 just seemed to respond better to throttle

Thanks, That looks almost too easy to be true. I guess that will also make it to the top of my mod list.

I wonder if it will effect the Superchips tuner?

i have the Powerwire from AIR RAM. ALso intake and Exhaust. The best way to describe it is this: you know on a cool morning you know about 50 degrees or so, your Jeep just feels spunky like it has a bit extra pop, well it feels like that all the time with the P/W. also on my 4.7 with just intake, exh, and PW, i also noticed a slight increease at idle. noticed this because ever since I did the intake it seems like when its good and warm the idle is a tad low. like say 450 RPM. with the PW it never nelow say 550, which is much smoother.
then i got the SC, I have the 91 tune. with the PW, I have mixed results. i had a weird experience when i was in the middle of flooring it, and had to let off real quick due to POPO alert. and one other time like that. where I didnt eh unexpected.
so for now I have just the SC 91 tune running and took off the PW.
one last thing. if you research the PW, it may work better in warm weather and in the cold weather is less noticable.
my plan is I need the 4.7 lugging trans update done so i need to remove my tune. once thats done I'll probably need a new S/C file, hopefully in stock, then load 91 tune back in. would then like to datalog and go to Bandimere for some testing in the fall.
You getting rid of your PW Rob?

no i dont think so.....
Ahh I must have misread that. No worries, I'll try contacting the dude from AirRam to see if he has anymore kicking around.

i did say i have taken it off for now. but its a cool thing so I'm going to hang on to it.
im pretty sure AIR RAM has more in stock.
you could try a wanted ad, maybe someone else wants to get rid of theirs.
Very true. Although I'm a bit impatient when it comes to Jeep mods, so will probably ending up going straight to the source and order one up today:D

i get a understanding of how this works: "lower" intake temps means the ecu adds fuel creating more power.
what i dont get is: if your not actually bringing in that temperature of air and you add fuel, how do you run 14.7 a/f and get better power and mileage? wouldnt you be running rich?

Is this the resistor that fools PCM that the air is cooler than it actually is via IAT? I plan to do something like that, but not for $60! :)

Yes or at least that's what I get from the description on airram.com

I have one, I cant tell that it did/does anything. Is there anyway to test this? I have a Bwoody intake reducing intake temps already. I heard (not sure if its true) that with my setup the computer might not use the sensor at all because it is too far off (cold). Some have noticed lower engine RPM on idle and such. Isn't it a resistor? Can I test it?

I tested mine with the DashHawk...It shows about 10degrees cooler!

Does anyone know if the PW will interfere with or trip up the Diablo canned tunes or CMR tunes?

It wont mess them up at all...I ran both while using my powerwire! ;)

where exactly do you plug this into?
and for a 2004 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7L does any know which size should be purchased between the 12 inch and the 24 inch wires?

You unplug the wire going to your Air Temperature Sensor and then plug one end of the powerwire to the wire and the other to the Air Temperature Sensor!
Not quite sure where the Air Temperature Sensor is on yours, but you dont need the powerwire to be long since it connects to something that already is long enough!
Does that make sense?!

I personally didnt really see any noticeable differences aside from the cooler temp reading...Others, however, have noticed improvements!

I bought one of Rob, still haven't got round to fitting it though!
I'll try it out and see if I can notice any difference with the SuperChips 91 tune.
I'll give it to Aaron (StoneCold) to try out on a stock PCM too and see if he runs a better 1/4 mile time with it on when we meet up.

Do they make it for the 09 gen 2 4.7? I have no mods yet. still waiting for bwoody and superchips for 09 4.7. Is the powerwire a worthwhile option or is it a waste of money.

Guess it is the same if you relocate your Intake Air Temperature Sensor close to the air source.

On a stock truck, this is a worthwhile mod.
With a truck with say a CMR tune? forget it. I can't directly speak for what most CMR tuners do to IAT (which is what the PW "fools" ), but my SCT tunes essentially have turned readings from the IAT "off".....so in my case, the powerwire would be useless.
Theres a reason why you dont see all the really fast trucks running stuff like this.
