does anyone on here have the painted OEM WK body kit. i want to purchace the oem body kit accessorry from JFJdotcom. i am wondering if it is the same as my textured plastic body kit, just painted, or is it a little larger like the srt. pls only reply if you are certain. if they are the same i will just get mine painted, but if its has the larger sides like the srt then i will purchase the kit.

The kit is definently larger than the stock wk side skirts and lip. The mopar kit is the exact same as what the SRT comes standard with. You will not be disappointed.

Like scott said, the side skirts are the srt8 skirts and the front bumper lip is shaped different from the stock, goes straight down then bumps out. The front lip is the same width as the stock, but when you get it painted and because of the shape it looks much better. I paid about $300 to have mine painted, so almost worth getting the ones already painted to match your paint code. Cheaper. When I installed my kit I was careless and just ripped the stock side skirts off ruining the mounting tabs. The front lips comes off simple with just 5 plastic clips with no damage. If I were you i would try to remove everything carefully intact and try to sell the stock parts. I happen to have someone buy my stock front lip for a few bucks cuz she cracked hers off roading or sumthing. might make a few bucks back, just an idea.

TO be honest, I think it would have been inpossible to save the tabs on the stock skirts. I know my tabs were ripped to shreds when I took mine out, not able to salvage them at al. For the front skirt.. very easy, and all tabs still in place.

If I had another set of hands when doing mine I could of been pulling the skirts straight out while someone else used a screw driver or pliers to push the plastic tabs in together. I bet it can be done without damaging them. But I really didnt care, ended up cutting them in pieces for the trash. Lol. I happen to just change them out and had the parts in my back yard when someone posted they are looking for the front bumper lip, so worked out buy chance. If I didnt see that post I would of tossed it.

Oh, and if they have your paint code for the kit get it, it cost me $300 to have the pieces painted, so added up together the $418 for the price of the primed kit off ebay then paint is over $700. The primed kits are a litle over $500 and $100 more for them painted thru J4J, so def worth it.

Do it bro, it makes a big difference. I actually bought my wk without knowing it had the kit on it. I searched autotrader for weeks but my eye would constantly get drawn back to this one. After i joined sj i was informed by the members that the previous owner put the body kit on it. The dealership told me they were all like that.

You're right, kit+srt reps should be a package combo that they should sell.

Yea right, I have a black WK (PXR paint code) and the ground effects kit makes a hell of a difference. The front lip is the exact same width as the stock but it appears lower for some reason, and with the side skirts the underside is hidden and makes it look lower and "beafier". I remember walking to my car before and I could see the muffler hanging, now because of the skirts being twice the width everything is hidden. The ground effects is one of the most costly mods but its also one of the best right behind the srt rims. My top 3 mods is srt grill, srt rep chrome rims, and ground effects kit. The other mod that is def needed is taking the roof rails off but I plugged the holes with 3 dollar plastic fasteners so thats not really a mod IMO. Oh, and cant forget a very very cheap mod that is a MUST do is painting the brake calipers. For 20 bucks it makes the WK look like it has expensive aftermarket brakes. Dam my WK looks good. Lol.

100% agree. Just like they have the Chrystler SRT Design model that has everything minus the motor. Alot of people want it for the looks but dont take it to the track or want to spend a crap load in gas a week. I travel over new England for my work, imagine if I had to fill the gas tank for a 6.1 all the time......Im cheap enough with my 3.7. lol

Your jeep looks good. Yours and urbanacids is the only black ones I can remember having it. But
I wasn't saying every black wk doesn't need the body kit, I was speaking for myself in the current future. My wallet is on E.
Hence, i kinda don't need it now since the jeep is black. Maybe later in the future.
Also, I agree with statement, and I'm glad I'm not alone.

I bought a front and rear srt8 bumber>> will they fit on my 2010 laredo. Im going to have them installed at a body shop. If they do fit will they be able to use the hardware from my stock bumpers??

as long as the front bumper is from an 08-10...youll be fine. But there are other parts required. Look in the sticky called srt conversion parts for those required

that body kit looks really good, i mean it is just the black pieces painted, but it makes a huge different man, makes your jeep look lower :P

What do you mean 'just the black pieces painted"? The Mopar body kit is the SRT side skirts that are about twice the width of the stock sills, though the Mopar front dam is actually the same width but the outside edges are almost straight down instead of having a curve like stock and also have a nice rounded lip along the bottom. With the stock sills I would be able to see my muffler hanging down from the side but the sills hide everything now being wider. I have a black WK, but if I had another color and was not going to do the body kit I would def look into getting the sills and air dam painted to match just to make everything blend in.
