I had the clear LED's tinted... People have tested them and say they look the best when tinted dark... They are as black as can be and the light transfer is awesome!
The wheels ride awesome! I can tell its definitely a smooher ride... I don't feel the bumps as much as I used to... I am soo happy with how everything turned out. The toyo proxes look mean as shit too! I love em!

Fawk this dent just cost me my LED tails, dual turn signal, Black Vinyl Pillars and roof. I need to set my truck up fot the srt's or vipers (Holds Breath) nest summer...

06-26-2009, 04:48 PM
Looks awesome bro!!! Did you wire them yourself? Does the whole light blink with the turn signal?
Bslagle05
06-26-2009, 04:50 PM
With the 05's it is a direct hook up so no wiring was needed... The whole light lights up when you apply the brakes and only the bottom half blinks when you have the blinker on

Nice, I think I'll go clear too... I bet no hint or red lense showing during the day. Did you get it from the GB?
Bslagle05
06-26-2009, 04:54 PM
Ya I got them from the group buy and your right there is NO hint of red showing in the sunlight... these babies are pure black! but light transfer is still really good!

Thanks everyone for the comments... I am sooo happy with them. I do want to get new brakes. I think that would just top it off. After everything I just put on today, I'm gonna be a little low on cash for a while though. My next mod will either be brakes or the Mopar Body Kit.
Scott- Handling is much better. I can tell the ride is alot smoother... I haven't really taken any hard corners yet though to really test it. I'm babying her right now :)

ya the place I got them put on at is awesome. They just opened up a few monthes ago and they do awesome work. They do everything from oil changes to wheels and tires to turbo installs to body and paint repair. While they installed my wheels, I sat in the garage with them and bullshitted around and stuff.
However, when I first pulled up he was taking down my information and he looked at the Jeep and goes "What kinda Jeep is that again, a Compass?" I go no its a Grand Cherokee. He goes does it have the 3.7L? I go no it has a 5.7L HEMI and hes like o haha

Please guys! With a few exceptions, there is nothing so satisfying as modding your vehicle yourself. Unless you have no time, or no possible area to work in(both of which I understand), it binds you so much more with your ride when you know you've done a significant amount of work to it yourself. Major paint jobs and complete engine rebuilds, I know should be left to professionals, but most mods are DIY jobs. I don't know everything, but I am ready, willing and able to lend a hand, or advice on anything I do know about.

After driving with the SRT reps and the Toyo Proxes for a few days I have to say the handling and ride quality is soooo much better. The Jeep rides soo much smoother and takes turns so easily! I absolutely love these Toyo Proxes!!!

IMO a waste of money that could be put towards other mods. I've stared and stared at my set-up, and what does it I think is the red calipers. The rotors just blend in back there. If they were brand new just put on not used it would look good, but after a month of use it would end up looking like stock rotors anyways. Im not an expert on brakes or anything at all, but i've talked to some shops and they all say just go oem. When you start drilling and slotting they said thats when they warp. There's a guy on ebay selling all 4 rotors with pads for under 200 shipped, i'd get those and just high temp paint the outer edges and inside face around the lugs black or silver to help out with rusting issues.

you got a pic of the ST's installed on your Jeep?? i absolutely love that tread pattern and looked and called places for hours and noone had any in stock. So i settled and got the S/TII's. I had the S/T's ordered and the company called me back 5 days later saying they don't even have them in stock

I was told they were discontinued and they completely stopped making them but I also heard they were just on back order for 4-6 weeks... I'm not real sure but I think they are done making them for good. STII's are good tires too I just liked that tread pattern better

I'm not sure if they are available in the right sizes....but there are mmany tires with a similar tread pattern. I know Kumho, nexen, goodyear and a few others make tires with a similar tread pattern

Goodyear Fortera Tripple Tread. Rates TONS better then the fortera HL and its available in many different sizes and its a good year round tire thats still good in snow.
here is the stock size.
A little price but my friends mom has them on a v8 ZJ and loves them.

They still list the proxes tires on their site too.
EDIT, read article, ST II is a replacement for the st.

Ive read that the ST II is a great all season tire, not amazing in winter but not horrible either. Very quiet on road (the st was loud apparently) and great handling.

Thats awesome, I hate my fortera HLs but ive heard nothing but good about the TT's. prolly the only good tire that GY makes. But pricy at $200 for stock 245's at town fair tire.

LOL thanks, if you change your mind and they are in good shape maybe i will take em.
I am thinking of buying the proxes stII for my jeep but they dont make the same size. I have a tiny bit smaller at 255/60/17 or the 235/65/17 or a bit larger at 275/60/17 or 285/60/17.
255/60/17

245/65-17 6.3in 14.8in 29.5in 92.8in 683 0.0%

235/65-17 6.0in 14.5in 29.0in 91.2in 695 -1.7%
Or a bit larger 275/60/17 (these are the ones i want)

I had the 245/65/17 Fortera Triple Treads on mine... out of the choices you listed, I would do the 255's or the 275's
NHWK05
06-29-2009, 11:20 AM
I am gonna get the 275/60/17 this fall as long as i can find proof enough that they will be decent in the snow. Ive heard so far that they are not that bad in snow.
Bslagle05
06-29-2009, 12:10 PM
the triple treads or the STII's? I can vouche for the TT's and say they are very good in the snow... and I don't plan on finding out if my STII's are good in snow or not! hah
NHWK05
06-29-2009, 01:00 PM
Prolly the Proxes, I think those are a bit cheaper, but thats by the internet, i need to check local, I know the TT's will be good in the snow. I am prolly going to chose one of the these two tires in a 275/60/17.
Changing the tire size is going to screw with my speedo reading like when i put 35s on my xj isnt it?
What ever i get it will be on stock Wk wheels until i buy AEV pintler wheels in a 17"
$199 a rim.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v293/xtremejeeper/AEVPIntler.jpg
I wish they came in chrome, only silver and argent and my jeep is too dark for a dark wheel.
Bslagle05
06-29-2009, 01:12 PM
The different sized tires will affect your speedo reading a little... Someone posted a link to a tire size calculator that will tell you exactly how far off your speedo will be... let me see if i can find it for ya

use caution when selecting an at/mt tire because of the "bolt" I would stay as close to stock diameter as you can
NHWK05
06-29-2009, 01:47 PM
Well thats why i am avoiding aggressive tires and trying to find a good all season/sport tire.
Also, i am not worried about the bolt cause it can be cut w/o issue. Apparently if you go over a 30" tire you need to cut it (its the thing to do when your in the lifted crowd on JU). So when i am ready to buy tires i will have them fit the front first, and if need be i can always cut it before hand. The 275/60/17 is .5" taller then the 245's and less then 1" wider. according to your tire size sticky.
