Are ya gonna do HID's?

SoCalMoparWK
06-27-2009, 02:04 PM
No....Not ready for HIDs yet. I am spending to much on little things. I still have to get my back hatch/liftgate fixed and detailed from a minor accident that I did in the garage and that is going to cost $740 and I still have to save up to get my suspension done after I get back from vacation.
HIDS or in the plans, but I'm still debating if i just want to go with the simple LED set up or hella expensive HID's.

Are you asking opinions on those headlights? If so, I think they are butt ass ugly, no way in hell would I put them on my WK

I don't think they look very good either, they're to over designed in my opinion.

I'm 50/50 as well Jacob.......I think I would get the 05-07 Stillens and some HID's with the $200

the only porblem I see with the Stillens is I need to paint them and I don't know how to paint or who to go to to get them painted w/o spending alot of money just to do it.

Scottina06

yeah...daniel paints them for like $70...so that would take the $200 you are spending on the lamps

The only wk I've seen with those lights are pkang21's. . . maybe you could see them from another angle, and on the jeep itself.

With the halo's, I don't know the exact durability of them. Maybe some of the guys know..

IMO if you want awesome headlights I would get an HID kit and paint the inside of the headlight housing black like i've seen done before, like nifty on here has done. The Halo's would look good too, and to install them you would need to take off the headlight housing lenses anyways so paint them at the same time.

I come across those headlights you noted above on ebay all the time and I think they are god awful. I mean I hate them, hate them, hate them. Lol. If I got them for free I would throw them away before i put them on my jeep, nevermind actually pay money for them.

Ok. Nuff said. I'm going to go with the Halos, but can some help me out on howto paint the inside and the procedure to do it and please include what materials I am going to need for this project. Scott?????

Or you could just ask Nifty himself :p *whistling* I think he even has an extra set of Halos for the WK headlamps that he was going to do for another member... I just sold my original Nifty mod lamps as well as a set that I am just now in the process off doing. (including a NEW set for myself :D )

As a matter of fact, the two ppl that bought them are BOTH on the red site! :o

Actually i am indeed working on a "How To' for everyone to see the type of time and effort I put into these lights. And if anybody wants them done, LMK before I deploy in Aug-Sep. I had more than two requests so far (only one of them didn't back out, though).
