You'd definitely want to do a better job cutting the plastic trim surrounding the USB plug, but here's the How-To!

they should be with the amount of technology nowadays

i saw the toyota matrix has a 110V adapter right in the console to use a laptop or charge it which i thought was neat and this is even neater

I have an adapter for the cigarette lighter that takes a USB charger. I use it to charge my Blackberry.
Something like this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/651511-REG/iLuv_IAD115BLK_iAD115_Micro_Size_USB.html

It actually starts with that, then you mod it to fit elsewhere

well that's nice as a charger but what about a USB port that can actually sync with ur car ???

something that can tap into the radio or even the ECU ???

i was thinking something more along those lines where you can control functions through the portable device

My DVD player here in Korea, some domestic cheapo brand, has a USB port. I download a movie torrent, store it on a USB, and play it like a DVD. No conversion or writing to a disc or anything. Plays just like a DVD. I just watched Wolfman with Benicio Del Toro that way(Good movie too!). I just wonder why stuff in the US is not so USB friendly?

Just so you guys know, many cars already come with USB ports for charging. All the Fords do, as its part of Sync, and alot of the Nissans have it, as well as others.

As far as the 110V goes. My Jeep has one from the factory. Its on the back of the center console. Guess it was part of SRT Group 2, with the overhead TV/DVD.

My 2010 has one in the same place. Switch to turn it off and on is on the dash, right beside the parking sensor switch.

My wifes van has that as well. Sit in the back and play XBox or PS3 while she drives.
