Alright so I want to add maybe a 12" sub to my WK. I like keeping the stock look and I have installed my own system plenty of times and kept the stock radio. But I really don't want to mess my 05 up so I want to make sure that everything is done completely right on this one! I have already ran the power wire and the ground wire. I grounded to the bolt on the back seat bracket....It's really the only place that I could find....Now I know that I'm going to have to splice the RCA cables into the back of the radio. I always spliced into the front right and front left speaker wires....My main problem is that I'm not positive which wires are which! I need to know which wire to splice my remote wire into also! Can anybody help with this and possibly post some pictures for me!? It would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey guys, Im having an issue with my Viper 5901 system. I had it installed about 6-8 months ago (not sure of exact date) by a supposed "authorized dealer" but the business has had owner issues (went to jail lmao, silly right) so I AM NOT going to go back to that place for those reasons plus the work they do I have found to be sub par.

ANYWAY, my remote does not seem to work from time to time with my system AT ALL. Wont unlock doors, wont remote start. Then if I hit the factory unlock (which still works) the Viper remote will begin to work. Occasionally the system works flawlessly though so its really odd. I have never used the back remote and my factory door locks are controllable w. the factory setup so I can always use that.

Sometimes the remote start will start and shut off immediately and the remote wont be able to connect to the system so I have to use the factory fob to go in, then the systems alarm will go off (since the door was opened and its armed) then I have to put the key in and the viper remote will work w. the system so I then unlock and disarm the system. ITS ALL A COMPLETE CLUSTER-PHUCK and I paid good money for the system (which did work GREAT for awhile) but I know it should last much longer than 6 or 8 months lol.

ANYONE out there certified to work on these or have knowledge f the Viper stuff? Im not ready to take it to another shop to look at because I KNOW they don't work on these complicated Jeep CANBUS electrical systems for cheap so I wanted to see who could help on here. Any input/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance - Anthony

edit: other symptoms are all the dash lights will flash on and off and the tach as well as other gauges will go back and forth w/ the lights, outside lights seem fine and its only on the dash, happen twice recently and I had to pull over and shut her down and restart and it went away. Its all so puzzling. I HATE electronics :( Love em at the same time :)

I just copped one today. Whistler is the brand, and their scanner is on sale for $24.95 at 6th Ave Electronics in Carle Place, Long Island. Now I don't have speeding issues, but the scanner was marked down from $200.00 so I figured I'd get one for the hell of it. It actually surprised me, it tracked every red light camera and police car with the radar scanners activated. It DOES NOT detect just police cars, their scanners actually have to be activated in order to pick up the radar. It also does NOT work on Lidar, but for $25,00 i'm not complaining. Not everyone might want one, but for an accessory with the potential added benefit of making sure you don't get caught in speed traps(SRT owners, j/k lol), this is for you. Seriously though, just looking out for my fellow Jeep drivers.
http://www.6ave.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=WHIXTR150

Now it says $29.95, but I picked one up today in store for $24.95, $27.10 with tax. Legal in all states with the exception of Virginia and Washington D.C. Private vehicles only.

I have a JL Audio 10W6v2 and I ended up tearing the foam surround about half ways around it. I searched online for repairs and came up with nothing, and JL wanted alot of money to fix it. I went to Home Depot and got a small bottle of Gorilla Glue, spread it on both sides of the torn surround let it set-up about a day. I did this about 2 weeks ago and the glue is holding up great and the sub sounds like new again. It does not look pretty, and I prob wont be able to resell the sub later on, but it seemed to work and the grill hides the glue from showing. Thumbs up for Gorilla Glue.......
