But that doesn't tell me too much since I have no magic decoder ring for this code. My Jeep is driving much better and I have no need for more work to be done (performance is now fine), but still a nagging uncertainty due to a dealer that is not very communicative.

I had looked for labels under the hood right after the work was done (March 4) but found nothing that seemed to fit. Then saw RageOfFury's post about the label he found. So re-examined my Jeep and found I had a label in the place he described (partly hidden and upside down, explaining why I didn't notice it before). See first three pics attached.

Problem is, when I go back to my archival pics, this label was already on my car at time of delivery back in December. So in my case this has nothing to do with the 18-012-11 TSB.

Then when I re-read the TSB, it describes in Step 3 of the Repair Procedure that the tech should type a label and "attach it near the VECI label" (i.e. Vehicle Emission Control Information). Now on my GC, the VECI label is on the underside of the front edge of the hood (4th pic attached). I have a security code plate near there installed by my dealer in case of theft, but no TSB label(s).

So here's my question: Does anyone have a TSB/RRT or any such label near their VECI?

I hate to search for yet another unicorn (like the front license plate bracket), but ChryCo and their dealers seem to love this sort of stuff.
Hmmmm now you have me wondering...The dealer did say that the TCM/PCM + HVAC TSBs were performed and I did noticed a difference, but yeah, no label next to the VECI lable, just the label near the fuse box.

From the google searching that I have done, this label(near fuse box) regards a software update that was performed on the TCM and PCM. So I concluded that this is the 18-012-11 TSB as it's the only TSB that touches the TCM/PCM.

Milous...help?!?!

I too have that sticker/label as described(she's brand new to me, no dealership visits yet), but I'm still experiencing premature upshifts after taking a right hand turn from a dead stop...I will have to see what my service guy says about this sticker in particular compared to these TSBs

Re: Attention WK2 3.6L owners - New TSB for Shudder, harsh shifts, performance and mo

My dealer has been pretty good about applying any electronic TSB available for the GC, whether I've complained about the condition or not. I had 18-012-11 done on March 19th, what a huge difference in driveability! I had earlier had 18-001-11 done on Feb. 19th, but I didn't notice as much difference with that one. The 012-11 update was a major improvement. Partial-throttle premature upshifts are virtually gone, which makes stop and go driving so much more enjoyable. Overall the GC feels much more livelier and I like the improved throttle tip-in setting this update provided. Plus, I'll have to verify this, it appears that I am getting better fuel mileage on my daily drive to work. Only time will tell for sure about that one. In any event, if your 3.6 hasn't had this update done, get it done ASAP! You won't regret it.

Your vehicle has had the ESP TSB performed (18193891), but not the TCM/PCM Flash (181906J7).

**** TSB 18-012-11 Update ****

For those who have had TSB 18-012-11 performed and still have any of the issues described, and for anyone who has yet to have it done, a revised bulletin has just been released:

PDF: TSB 18-012-11a (supersedes 18-012-11 issued on 2/24/2011)

Thanks again Milous for your great info. This message removed any lingering doubt about whether my WK2 did get both the ESC and PCM updates earlier this month, despite the lack of any labels applied by my dealer and their reluctance at first to do them. It DID get them both.

I will not need this latest tweak to the PCM flash since I have no further issues -- its just a joy. But great to see Jeep keeping right on top of this matter for all owners.

I knew there were going to be bugs in that service pack

SWEET! My car was built in January, and the old 012 bulletin didn't cover me, but this one does.

I tried talking with my dealer over the phone yesterday, but I could tell he dismissed me the instant I mentioned "internet". I hope printing out this bulletin does the trick. Of course they'll think I'm a prick, but I should be able to get the update.

I just had the new update done, it seems to correct some of the lack of power and the shifting seems to be better. Other than that I didn't notice a whole lot of difference, but I only drove it mostly on the highway.

My build date is Aug/2010 so I will want to get the TSB done at the dealer next time I go for my free oil change as I do experience the lack of power and a dead spot.....it takes a while for the engine rpms to catch up with my foot. Do I need to get both done (18-001-11 and 18-012-11)?

Milous previously recommended that people with the V6 get BOTH done if the symptoms are there. Good enough for me...

But note that the latest version of 18-012-11 is now 18-012-11a.
