Chrysler Extended Warranty Prices

I've seen a few comments regarding warranty's so I figured I would post warranty prices from Chryslerwarrantys.com. I used them to get my dealer to match their price for my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Lifetime Maxcare warranty which I paid $1625 for. Unfortunately, my buddy didn't listen to me and when he bought his Ram from a different dealership, he paid $2800 for the same warranty...OUCH! I plan on doing the same thing for the JGC. I'm only quoting Max Care not the Added Care Plus which is cheaper but covers less as well. Max Care is your typical "bumper to bumper" warranty. This assumes $100 deductible. There are options for $50 and $0 deductible which substantially increases the price. These are 5, 6 and 7 year options along with the Lifetime option. I'll be going with the lifetime option on the JGC like I did with my Ram. One other thing to note here is that when you buy an Extended Chrysler Warranty (at least the Lifetime one) you receive a booklet of 6 free oil change coupons. I received two booklets when I bought my Ram (one for the military $500 rebate which the JGC has and one for buying the extended warranty). Great deal if you ask me so in my opinion it's a no brainer. The Lifetime isn't transferable to anyone except in two states if I remember correctly but I plan on keeping my JGC quite a long time just as my truck so I love that peace of mind.

2011 JGC

5/60K = $845
5/70K = $1055
5/85K = $1210
5/100K = $1400

6/60K = $940
6/70K = $1120
6/85K = $1330
6/100K = $1590

7/60K = $1005
7/70K = $1150
7/85K = $1380
7/100K = $1665

Lifetime (No Mileage or Year Expiration)
Powertrain Alone = $885
Max Care Bumper to Bumper (including power train) = $2100

The issue normally stems from the compressor failing. The Jeep shouldn't have that issue based on the sealed system. It doesn't have to keep pumping and drying outside air.

The other main issue are the bags themselves they eventually from so many compressions develop small cracks in the rubber and cause leaks. This will be the achilles heel on the jeep if this happens since it is a closed system. It will not be able to compress outside air to pump the system back up. With other systems the compressor can keep up with small leaks for sometime before the leak gets to large or the compressor overheats.

The other issues with the systems are the electronics and valves.....wheel sensors, height sensors, frozen or sticky valves.

Is there any other option in Canada other than the dealer quoted warranty? They want an arm and a leg for it. I contacted chryslerwarrantys.com and they said that this was only available in the US.

I have a couple questions. I am purchasing my jeep via the Navy exchange overseas program.
I got quoted $1570.00 for the "owner's protection 7 year 70,000 mile major component coverage.
And $639.85 for the Ziebart vehicle protection package.

What is the Ziebart vehicle protection package and what does it include?
Thanks, Ron

It includes the free container of KY Jelly to make the cost seem 'comfortable'. Don't do that! The vehicle has plenty of corrosion protection, and the added stuff requires you to have an inspection each year to keep the warranty in place. Besides, it sprays goo all over the engine compartment, and that is really unsightly!

just got dealer to give Max Care extended warranty on GC Overland 7/10000 with $100 deductible for $1,565.00. That is $100 less than online! I think it is worth if since it has all the bells and whistles!

Great information everyone. My WJ has been nothing but a black hole sucking money from my wallet. I love the vehicle. I hope Mr. Marchione and Chrysler have worked out all the gremlins with the WK2. This is an expense I hadn't even thought of making with my new purchase until now.

just picked up Overland and got Max Care 7/100,000 for $1550 that includes tire and rim coverage! Dealer wanted to charge $2,695 and I told him what was online and no biggie I could get it there and he then gave me the closing price! You have to ask and you have to have backup info. May be better deals out there but I feel that was fair and I paid 1% over invoice. (when got to dealer is was $15 cheaper)

A silly question: will this 7 y warranty start after the manufacturer's warranty expire? Or it starts from your purchase date? Thanks.

Looking at the ChryslerWarrantys.com sites, I don't see the "lifetime" warranty listed....as several posts above have mentioned. The longest term shown is 7yr/100,000mile. Does anyone know if a true owner lifetime warranty is available on the 2011 Overland?

Also, I'm purchasing through the Chrysler Employee Discount program...I wonder if they give EP discount on the Max Care warranties?

I did the on line quote thing from ChryslerWarrantys.com, plugged in my $190 discount number they e-mailed me, and came up with just over $1900 for the Lifetime MaxCare warranty with $100 deductibles. I printed that page and took it to my local dealer that sold me my 2011 vehicle and they matched the on line price. Note that they sure didn't mention the lifetime MaxCare and good pricing when I originally bought my vehicle - they wanted to sell me some off brand service contract at a much higher price. You have to go armed with a printout that shows the price you can get on line and they may then be willing to give you a competitive price as well.

We were offered an off brand because they kept saying it was cheaper then the Max Care. They showed me a printout of the Max Care and it was $3100, not the $2100. I told them that online I could get it for $2100 and somehow they managed to come up with extra money in my trade in, that they were "losing money on". Go figure. They are still making money at $2100. The off brand was $2300 and was only 7 years and not lifetime.

To be included in the financing. When people are put on the spot, they'll cave. Thankfully, all of us who do our homework at JG know better  So, even if you want to get the warranty at the time of purchase, you can go in prepared with price research, as previous posters suggest.

I have been trying, but we are unable to use the coverage from Chryslerwarranties.com in Canada. I wish I had an option other than the 3400 bucks the dealer quoted for an extra two years beyond the factory coverage. I am trying a dealer in Edmonton, apparently they have given good quotes to other folks on JG.

Great thread, thanks all. Exactly as stated here, the stealership first tried to peddle third party service contract, then tried to sell Chrysler Max Care 7yr/100k for $3,215 despite having this info in hand.

Less than 5 minutes after logging into the Chryslerwarrantys.com site, they emailed the $180 coupon code, which got credited against the online price of $1,665 for Max Care 7yr/100k. Unless you want to finance it, easy and cheap enough to buy off the website. No fuss.

Thanks again.

Based on personal experience with my WJ, I would certainly get an extended warranty if you're planning to keep the vehicle beyond the original warranty period. I bought the equivalent of MaxCare coverage from a company called WarrantyDirect, and it paid for itself several times over. I would have purchased Chrysler's MaxCare plan, but I could not find a dealer willing to offer a reasonable price at the time, which kind of sucked. However, my experience with Warranty Direct was very positive. I've subsequently been ripped off by another aftermarket warranty company, which really sucks. There is a pending class action lawsuit against the company, so maybe I'll get 10-15 bucks back.

Got the Lifetime MaxCare w/ $100 deductible from my dealer for $1750. They beat the online price by $160. He stated that that was dealer cost.

He gave it to me at that price to get my loan business where he matched the best interest rate I found for a 48 month loan (2.72%). It was a no lose situation for me.

Went to my dealership last week for an oil change and a check over. I decided to purchase a 7/70 maxcare. She originally said $1900, told her nope Ill pass since just the week before she quoted me $1700. She went and gave me the $1700 price. The problem was it really made me curious as to what would the other prices be out there. I just assumed that all would be the same. So today I went to http://www.chryslerwarrantys.com and was able to save over $800. The gal cancelled my exsisting warranty since I paid by CC and then rewrote the new warranty at the lower price. Another happy Chrysler stoy. It just seems that everytime I want to get pist at chrysler someone steps up and makes it good.
