That is exactly what mine did and then it got worse. The bottom left side started hitting off the body of my GC.

Re: Rear Glass

Thanks for the heads up rrjpp74. I took a look last night and I found that the left side of the glass (where the glass is affixed to the metal plate that joins the unit to the plastic spoiler) is flexing. The right side is not. I'll steer my dealer in that direction. I am hoping to bring the car in Friday for this and some other things.

Re: Rear Glass

Yeah that is same side as mine, Also started leaking water in and the spoiler was higher on that side then the other from the gas shock pressure.

Re: Rear Glass

That rear flip glass is one of the reasons I bought the Jeep since I have a handicapped scooter lift on the back and most of the time the glass is how I get into the back. I am starting to get sweaty palms about this new vehicle I just bought, but do not have yet. The fire, the shakes, the loose glass-any other issues going on out there???

Re: Rear Glass

I took some pictures of this today. The dealer will be looking at my vehicle next week. This is one of six things I have asked them to address. This one really annoys me because I have discovered that the glass is misaligned and has scratched away the paint on my car. Lovely!

photo 1.JPG This picture is with the glass up. It has put a scratch on the inside of the tailgate frame. Sorry for the poor quality. It is covered in salt.

photo 2.JPG This is a picture of the bottom left corner of the flipper window and frame. As you can see it right next to the frame. There is a huge gap on the bottom right hand corner. The noise I have been hearing is the corner of the window bumping into the door pillar over bumps and high vibration roads.

Re: Rear Glass

It's in the shop now. I have been away on business all week but I left the car with them before I left. They haven't yet called me about it. I left them a list of things to look at though. They could be trying to figure some of the other stuff out... I'll post up what they tell me and how they fix it.

Re: Rear Glass

Like I said before, I'm not experiencing this issue. However, I decided to pick up some PL Premium Advanced Polyurethane construction adhesive to fill in the gaps that aren't covered by the OEM adhesive. This is extremely strong construction grade adhesive.

I will be applying this tonight and I will take some pics. This should assure that I never experience this issue.

Re: Rear Glass

The rear flipper window needs to be replaced. It is on backorder. That is the only information that I have on this. I had them lock my key in the vehicle because I picked it up after they were closed.

I am not sure what to make of it other than at least they acknowledged that it is a problem.

Re: Rear Glass

Yeah I rem them telling me it was on backorder. So what they did was take a exactly color jeep off the lot and replaced mine with it. Another thing to do is pull the gas struts off so it don't leave the pressure on it.

Probably a good idea. Here are some pictures (with his consent) of my neighbor's overland... Same issue!!! The first picture shows the gap where the OEM adhesive unglued itself from the glass. The other 2 are of the scratch in the paint starting to develop.
