Re: so many issues

anyone who reports their problems on an internet website is a very, very minisculeportion of all owners. Over 100k 2011's have been sold and you are seeing very few that have problems. Look at the best car in the world and 80 out of 100 report problems......

Have the blend doors in your '04 broken (yet)?. If not, and you aren't going to repair it yourself, start saving for it now.

I hope I am in the majority of owner of the 2011 GC.

I ordered mine the first of October and it arrived 8 weeks later in the last week of November.

So far I have 3200 miles on it and I can honestly say that I have not experienced any of the problems for on the forum or any other problems.

I have had it back to the dealer one time for an oil change.

I have found that on most forums the people who have not had problems don't say so. A few problems are to be expected on any complex vehicle and since this is the first year for this one a few more problems may be expected.

I am very happy with mine.

Re: so many issues

Ive had mine since september..over 6,000 miles. The only issue i had was that my bluetooth was acting up a bit. They replaced it no problem. FYI i had an 06 acura tl that did the same thing..they replaced it as well.

Re: so many issues

I'm holding off until I can order a '12 (no hurry getting rid of current '09 ride) but based on what I've seen on forums the new GC has been about as reliable as a new car can be. There are always issues with new cars (or any complex product) but, with a few exceptions, I'm not seeing a large chorus of complaints for any one problem and some of the reported problems are the sort of things a less fussy/unaware owner (I'm thinking my wife here) would ignore. The shudder issues are disturbing but it seems like Jeep is taking this and all issues very seriously. I'm looking forward to seeing the first ratings from JD Power and CR. I expect them to be very good.

Re: so many issues

I was thinking the same, but then you can't buy any new car, just take a look on active forum for other cars.

Re: so many issues

The WK2 is the best vehicle I've ever owned. Some small issues with throttle delay on the V6 but even this has been nitpicking -- not often an issue, and I didn't buy this as a dragster. And that has now been fixed by Chrysler's latest mods to the drive by wire system.

Unless there is an upcoming feature not yet available that you cannot do without I'd say go for it!

2,000 miles. Not a single problem. Excellent build quality so far.

Re: so many issues

I haven't had any issues either. I did have it back to the dealer for the TSB for the ESC update because it was built before 30 December but this wasn’t mandatory I wanted the update. The mechanic pulled the Jeep around back and into the bay, did the update, pulled it back out front, all before I could drink a cup of coffee. The whole thing was less than 20 minutes.

I have a little over 3,300 miles on it no issues with the Jeep it's the best vehicle I ever owned and it seems the more I drive it the more I like it. The quality is there, it’s a very solid vehicle, the fit and finish is top notch it looks and feels very good. This is an awesome machine. I will more than likely buy the same vehicle in a couple of years the only thing I would change is add the saddle interior.

BTW this is my 6th Jeep Grand Cherokee ('95 laredo, '99 laredo, '99 Limited, '05 Limited, '08 Limited).

Re: so many issues

I've had issues with the key since the first week (11/27/10 purchase) until now. I've gone through three sets of keys, replaced WIN and PEM modules. The dealer, Mopar, and Chrysler engineers are all stumped at this point. I've filed for relief under Wisconsin's Lemon Law and spoke with Chrysler Quality asking them to buy back the JGC. The vehicle's been in for service six times totalling 25 days so far and failed me 15 times at work, home, and in between.

Chrysler will be contacting me again today with an update, my case is now at the local "Business Center" for review.

Despite my issues I know this isn't representative of the Jeep's quality as a whole. If they buy back the vehicle I'll be at the dealer money in hand ordering an Overland!
