Cooper Discoverer AT3 vs Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10

Has anyone on here ran either tire? Not necessarily only on a Jeep.. The Discoverer AT3 is a new tire (spring 2011) but the Hankook has been around. I cant reference tirerack as they aren't available there, there a lot of toyota guys run both tires... Looking to get one or the other I think for 275/55/20 as an A/T all season tire. Let me know what you think

The coopers look nice and supposedly less noise then the hankooks. No one out there with any experience on either yet?

Re: Cooper Discoverer AT3 vs Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10

Don't know how much this will help, but here is my experience with Coopers. Last set of Coopers I had on my two WJ's (2000 and 2002 JGC) were Discoverers (not sure of exact model since had to replace them). The Coopers were ok; noise pretty good but wear life went pretty quick to me (didn't get as much mileage as expected). Don't have any experience with Hankook.

Re: Cooper Discoverer AT3 vs Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10

I have the Hankooks in stock 18" size. This was my first set and I like them a lot. For the aggressive tread pattern there is not any noticeable road noise. I had them installed at around 1500 miles and just took them off to run dedicated winter tires at 6200 miles. THey have little to no wear and have not let me down on the occasional trail, slippery boat ramp etc. Much better than the factory Michelins IMO. So impressive that instead of buying Blizzaks for my winter tire choice...I opted to go with the Hankook iPike. Hope this helps.

Thanks Steveo. I'm surprised you don't run the dynapro ATM rf10 year round they seem like they'd be great for the winter. That's why I plan to switch is to get a more all year round tire the Goodyear stock 20s are okay for winter but I think either of these would be much better.

I have run many different A/T tires over the years however, I have not had a chance to try the rf10's in the snow. I do know that last winter I ran my first set of dedicated snow tires ( General Arctic Ultimax) and they hands down blew away any A/T tire I've tried for winter performance. The Generals don't come in 18" which is why I thought I'd give the Hankook iPikes a try. ( fingers crossed)

I put the cooper at3s on my moms
Escape and it's rides well don't notice any more noise then the street tires we took off. The aggressive tread pattern looks great but on the 20s don't get the OWL which I kind of want on my new tires or the jeep

For some reason they dont make them OWL for the 20 inch for the cooper tires. The Hankook I believe are also SBL. Not sure why there is no ability to get the AT3 20's with OWL. It does look nice on a dark vehicle.

The hankooks also have great reviews for the dynapro ATM RF 10, a lot of tundras etc run them when I search google there all over the forums. Hankook is a tad more aggressive looking, not sure which I want its a toss up. Price is about the same as well!
