Sept. issue of Mopar Muscle has an article with dyno sheets that feature a BBK 85mm throttle body and BBK CAI that gain 43hp and 50 ft. lb. of gain on the 6.1l! Anyone try this throttle body and want to weigh in? Seems like an awful lot and makes me want to call bullshit but they have the sheet to prove it.

I have had the BBK 85mm unit for some time now

I dont have the 6.1 but do have the 5.7 and I can attest that it definately is a different beast. They tested a 5.7 datona with a CAI before the throttle body and after, and it netted 21 hp.

It retails for like 400+ or so, but wunderauto you can name your price, I think I got mine for like 330 maybe less, it was a little while ago.

Thats bullshit. The stock TB isn't a restriction, so any gains are temporary and are caused by the mixture being leaned out. Once the ECU learns, its gone. And theres no way its anywhere near 43hp. Its maybe 8-12 at most.

my friend runs his mustang with bbk intake and throttle body and got the 1/8 down by 0.2 seconds speaking of average runs here not sure bout HP

Mustangs are intake restricted. Always have been. They have 70 or 75mm Throttles depending on year. Plus they use Mass Air metering. We aren't (stock 80mm) and use Speed Density.

Hi I buy the 90mm in my jeep srt8 and I put my jeep in the dyno and i have -1hp and +3tq why? i have k&n intake, borla s, diablosport trinity.

Any Dyno will have a certain margin of error. If you run the same truck 2-3 times you will see different HP each time(within reason). A difference that small is insignificant. It just confirms the posts in this forum. Doesn't appear to add any significant amount of HP... With an otherwise stock engine I don't think it's worth it. Just my 2 cents.

Its all in the tuning.
