Steering wheel bezel replacement

Hey everyone, I am looking to swap out my black WK2 steering wheel bezel for the silver/gray/brushed aluminum one.

TO:

Not looking for the SRT or Limited one, just the regular old Laredo silver one instead of the black.

I know this would be a very straight forward and easy swap-out and install, but after hours of searching online I can't seem to find the correct part number.

Anyone have any experience with this part?

All suggestions taken!

Rlinder,

Thanks for the reply, can't find anything with those numbers yet but I'll keep trying. Are you selling the whole wheel or just the bezel? PM me with a price, I am interested.

Kris

Re: Steering wheel bezel replacement

RageOfFury,

Thanks, I see that there are three part numbers for the Bezel with three different prices. Unfortunately they don't provide any description at all, any idea how to tell which is which (specifically color)? Here's the part numbers;

1TE62DX9AB - $13
1XT871X9AA - $52
1XT87SZ6AA - $55

Re: Steering wheel bezel replacement

1XT87SZ6AA - $55 (= SRT8)

There are a lot of different bezel part numbers, having a VIN from a vehicle with the bezel you want would help track down the correct part number.

Re: Steering wheel bezel replacement

So I'm guessing...

1TE62DX9AB - $13 = Black
1XT871X9AA - $52 = Silver
1XT87SZ6AA - $55 = SRT8

???

Re: Steering wheel bezel replacement

I am also looking to do this. I think the silver bezels would look a lot better in my Laredo than the all black one. If you are successful in swapping it out, please let me/us know how you did it (photos?). I imagine you wouldnt be able to do this without removing the steering wheel completely but I hope I'm wrong.

Re: Steering wheel bezel replacement

So I went to the dealership this morning and asked for help decoding the part numbers... unfortunately the parts guy had no idea either. We ended up using the VIN from one of the 2012 WK2 Laredos on the lot which had the silver steering wheel bezel.

The result was part# 1TE64GFAAB

Dealer retail $116

That is definitely more than I was looking to spend on this little project so I guess I'll need to think it over. It seems weird that there are so many bezel part numbers which range in price from $13 to $52 to $116

Little more digestible.

Re: Steering wheel bezel replacement

A very kind and generous JG member ended up hooking me up with a silver bezel for next to nothing! When I do the swap out I'll take pictures along the way and post them here for those interested.
