I just installed struts and took it into firestone to get it re-aligned since i have the lifetime alignment. they come out after an hour and tell me they cant do it because one of my bolts are missing for the lower control arm. Now i was just under the car the previous day and that bolt was there. I asked them if they were sure that it didnt break off when they tried to loosen it to do they alignment and they swore nervously no it wasnt there to begin with. The washer mark looks pretty fresh if you ask me. So now im stuck fixing it. This coming from the place that previously gave me problems that they could only adjust the toe and not the camber or caster since the vehicle had been lifted.

Firestone has a reputation at least back in the eighties, of fixing what you ask them to fix and breaking something else so that you return to them to get that fixed. I've always found them to be dishonest and money driven. Or visa verse. Sorry this happened to you. But I believe they found a way to get more money out of you.

Im starting to find this out, so far ive had nothing but headaches with them. They tried to blame it on whoever installed the lift must have broken it. I said that I installed the lift which did not require me to remove the lower control arm since it was just strut spacers. After them trying to find excuse after excuse I told them just get it off the lift I want my car back. I ordered the bolt from the dealer and am in the process of getting the broken one out to replace it. They wont be getting any money out of me, but it did cost me the price of the bolt and my time.

Looking for some knowledge...

Took my car to Firestone for an alignment after some suspension work. I had read this thread, but the shop just opened and I figured they probably want to make a good impression on the community for at least a short while, so they would be a fairly safe bet.

As mentioned in another post, according to the report they moved everything into spec except my left caster claiming something was "locked, a bolt usually" and it prevented them from doing so.

Anyway since getting the alignment the ride has been very tight/bumpy/wobbly/choppy. Much more so then before. The most noticeable difference is that there used to be some play with the steering wheel where you could go a little one way or another before the wheels started to turn. Now there is none. Shoudn't it be the opposite? I'll note they also did a tire rotation for first time in the 25k miles I've owned it and who knows before then. Could it be possible I need to get them balanced?

I had a firestone align my old WJ. They were willing to work with me even though I was lifted. No problems.

wonder if they aligned it before the rotated and yea usually things dont get tighter as time passes its usually looser does it pull at all, how bout brakeing with hands off the wheel?
id keep an eye on your front tires for unusual wear maybe you got lucky and they had 2 jeeps in there that day and they rebuilt your front end by mistake and just aligned the other guys
