Just got my front windows tinted at 20% yesterday since shop didn't have 15. Personally I think it's a little lite. Maybe it will look better once the tint settles I can still see some small looking water bubbles on the passenger side, hopefully those dry out.
Anyway who has there whole windshield or a brow done. What percent did you go with ? How is it driving during the day and at night ? Did it make the side windows look darker?
i have the bar across the top, done with 15% to match my front windows. I did it more for function, rather than looks. My eyes are sensitive to light and this helps alot when driving, plus i don't have to use my visors anymore.
Oh, and I have no troubles seeing at night. You don't notice the windshield tint when you are inside the vehicle, Just feels like having sunglasses on.
I bought mine with 5% over factory tint in back and 20% on front sides. Had a 5% tint strip on windshield, but it came down too far. took off when brought the jeep home. i want to get a 20% small strip at top because windshield comes with no factory tint at top at all. A lot of vehicles come with some type of factory strip.
Roll all your windows down and have all the interior lights turned on with both hands on the steering wheel before the cop walks up to your Jeep and you shouldn't get a tint ticket.....well, I don't when I do all that I just mentioned.
Cops like tint too. Most cops are car enthusiast just like we are.
i had 20% front windshield done on my chrysler 300 with two layers of limo tint all around.... i loved it, the window hardly ever fogged up and the glare was cut down to almost nothing... i never once was bugged by cops i would do it to my wk but im trying to stick to the more "legal" side of modding...
i was stopped once by a cop who asked me where i got my hids and if i could get the number for him and how i could see with the front windshield done so darkly, need less to say he got in my car and tested it out...
Be careful with the full windshield done - I know that was HIGHLY illegal when I was in Iowa, and I'm sure they'd be just as pissy about it in Illinois where I am now. I had a friend who did the windshield on his pickup back in high school who was warned by the tint shop that if he was in an accident, he would be at fault since his vision was reduced. I don't know what the rules are everywhere, but it could get you into some serious trouble. Up to you, just wanted to pass that along...
