Well, i'm just throwing out other options with possibly less complexity and cost. Besides, 210 -> 290 hp and 235 -> 260 ft.lb tq is an increase in power in an engine that weighs less and is better on mileage than his current engine. There will also be great aftermarket support now that the pentastar is in the wrangler.
But all things aside, a trade is the way to go.
Ported throttle body, intake and exhaust are the obvious ways to increase power and not break the bank. You could also swap in 3.73 gears front and rear at the expense of highway cruising and mpgs.
