WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

I figured I would put the word out to everyone. I just got a great Labor Day deal at NTB. I purchased the new Nitto Crosstek tires (265/60R18s) and mounted them on my stock 18" Overland wheels. Through Monday (05 Sep 11) NTB is doing a buy 2 get 2 free deal. As part of the deal you have to get the road hazard warranty and a 3 year unlimited alignment service, but overall you still end up saving a boatload. I have only put about 5 miles on the tires so far, but they feel and look great. From what I can tell so far, they are designed to have excellent wet traction, and will have off road traction between an A/S and an A/T tire. They also come with a 60,000 mile warranty for P metric sizes. I have been waiting to buy new tires, and have hesitated in pulling the trigger until yesterday. I'm very glad I waited.

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

Those look sexy. I love Nitto Tires. Ive seen these before but they are not on the nitto website. Id like to know how well they perform in the snow too.

I am going to get the equivalent tire size for a 17, 265/65/17. Any way, those look really sweet. Im not going to run spacers though, i am going to cut the bolt. They will clear everything else, (ive had this size before). They seem to have a website all to them selves, there are 3 different styles, HD, Suv/Truck and Crossover.

Regular Nitto Site.

I have put about 75 miles on the tires since last night...they are very smooth/quiet on the road. I haven't tried them off road yet, but am sure they will handle everything other than mud well (especially with the QDII).

Thanks...I love the color as well. It is like mixing gunmetal with blue.

Also, I have an OME MD suspension on order...it is supposed to be delivered in 2-3 days.

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

After doing some research on these tires I think they will be just what I'm looking for. I've been really wanting an at tire but I want a soft cushy ride with long tread life. I do 99% on road with some dirt roads here and there. Once in a while a mild trail for fun. I love the looks of the tire and the. Rugged side wall. I am going to get the 265/65/17 hopefully before snow flies. I really llike all the great reviews too. I've been wanting nitto tera grapplers but all the reviews say they don't last whereas these seem to last and have a 60k warranty. They look. Rugged too.

Imvery happy you bought these and posted on them. I think these will work great for me too! I am also hoping to get the ome md lift in a few years after we buy a house and a new car for my wife. (She wants a BMW X3/X5 or new Durango or Acadia before I get a lift)

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

I had a chance to semi-test the off-road traction of the Nitto Crossteks today. I went to a 200+ acre construction site near my house. I snapped a pic of my jeep on a 45-55 degree incline (felt more like 80 degrees). The Jeep literally crawled on up with no tire slip I could feel (it also dragged the front bumper on the way down...booo to having a poor approach angle/ground clearance). Everything felt great, but to be honest, I just idled around and let the QDII do all the work so it is hard to know how good they really handle dirt/mud.

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

That's awesome. These tires remind me a lot of the nokian wrg2. All season snow tire.

Sweet picture too. Hey if you ever decide to de bling your wk and want to sell/trade your rear chrome license plate brow or chrome roof rails let me know!

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

Quick question for you....

Would these tyres fit without the spacers?

Thanks

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

265/65/17 and 265/60/18 will fit but you need to cut off the bottom of the upper ball joint bolt. The 255/65/17 will fit w/o any mods.

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

Thanks for the lightning reply.... then

265 65 18 is out of the question unless running 1" spacers? Looking at Cooper Zeon LTZ.

Or option 2

275 55 20 on a 9x20....

Re: WK with new Nitto Crossteks and Spidertrax spacers

Whoops sorry about that. Yes you need spacers for the that size I was trying to say that as well as the ones that will fit.
