Wheel alignment

I remember that on my WJ, I had to do wheel alignment only to the front wheels. I had a shifter to switch from 2wd to 4wd. Now on my WK, full time 4x4, I want to know if wheel alignment is necessary and if it is, do i need it on all 4 wheels?

You still need to get your wheels aligned, 4x4 or not. I don't think it's possible to align the rear wheels though. I don't think there is any toe adjustment on the rear, unless I'm mistaken.

um i had my wk hit in the rear quarter panel and they did an alignment to the rear wheel as part of the work, so im pretty sure that rear wheels can be aligned.

If I recall correctly, the rear is non-adjustable and shoulldn't require alignment as a routine procedure.

When absolutely necessary (as a result of accident) I think they have to use spacers on the rear axle to align it - there are no adjustment points.

...but I could be wrong.

That being said, I think you are supposed to align the front taking into consideration the rear - so although you can only adjust the front it is still an all-wheel alignment...

the wk has a "live" rear axle, it is what it is. there is no toe or camber adjustment like a independent suspension. I dont know for a fact on the wk, but the control arm mouning bolts may have some adjustability to keep the axle in line so it is pointed straight.

i have a WK alignment specs sheet sitting on my desk right now and it does give rear specs. the rear should not move, but it is possible

yeah, the rear doesn't need it unless someone actually slammed you and bent the axel or something like that. The wheel just bolts up to the hub and with a live axel there are no control arms or anything that'd youd see in an IRS so there is no toe/caster/camber adjustment. Id def get it checked out on the alignment rack though if you were slammed in the back haha
