I'm new here, so I hope I'm putting this in the correct section. I have an 04 GC Freedom edition and it seems to be extra bouncy in the rear. Going down a paved road that is uneven and has dips and rolls in it my jeep seems to just kind of bounce and roll around. This winter when it was really cold here in Michigan I would hit a pot hole or something and it was as if there was no suspension in the back at all. There were some firm and loud booms as if I was hitting a bump stop or something along those lines. Is this a sign that I need new shocks or could it be something else? I am not the original owner of this vehicle< so I don't know if it has a small lift or not, but it does sit higher then other GC I have parked next to, but I also have taller tires on it as well, so not sure if that has something to do with it. Help me please. I love my Jeep, but I want a smoother ride even on a uneven road. Thanks in advance.

The WJ pure sang is indeed already a bit () bouncy. If it gets too much, there is a good change that the shocks are not working well anymore. Is there some place overthere where they can test the shocks on the jeep?
But even with good shocks, its still bouncy. Many jeep owners have installed an Addco stabilizer bar, which is much thicker and stiffer then the original spagetti bar which comes from the factory. This Addco bar makes the ride much more smooth. Unfortunately i can´t speak of my own experience, since i don´t have this bar yet.
Also have a look if all the control arm bushings are ok and if the upper control arm ball joint don´t have any play on it.
