IRO offroad event pics/vids and 4xguard testament!

Finally got a chance to wheel the WK after all the mods this past weekend up north at the Iron Rock Offroad customer appreciation event. It was myself, my gf and her XK, a buddy w/his JK Rubicon, and another buddy w/his lifted ZJ. I've been to this offroad park plenty of times w/previous XJ's, but this was the first time wheeling w/the WK. Getting used to the IFS took some changing of wheeling habits, but I have to say the QDII setup is quite amazing. I never got stuck, but did get high centered a couple times on some boulders. Every single piece of armore was put to the test. Including the rock rails supporting the weight of the jeep. The front skid also got a chance to do that, but didn't fare to well. I should say the skid held up great but the mount bent and the guard pushed into the unibody/radiator support and bent it in two places. Other casualty was the passenger rear wheel facing was pushed into a rock and forced the rear to the drivers side causing the DS to get caught on the gas tank skid pulling it down some and marring the DS weights and boot.
The GF also got to wheel her XK but after picking the wrong line on a steep decline w/out a spotter she had it on two wheels and that was the last of the wheeling for her for the weekend lol.
Casualties for the weekend:
WK-Multiple scratches, cracked rear/front bumper(minor), bent unibody support, two chewed up rims, dented gas tank skid, multiple gouges in armor, and molested DS.
XK-a few scratches and a shook up GF.
JK- Scratches, plugged radiator, and blown cooling fan(we had to do a parts store parking lot hayden fan swap).
ZJ-Scratches and both rocker panels dented pretty good.

Our mascot for the weekend, The Dude. Yes he is posing as a real-life Mack emblem haha!

Onto the vids! Can you only embed videos if you're a paying member? I can't embed videos only on this forum no matter how I link or insert the videos

Already done for the most part. Took about 2 hours of scrubbing. The tires and underside will be red forever though. Here's my last rig I built and had up there. It was never this white again.

Re: IRO offroad event pics/vids and 4xguard testament!

Awesome photos!

I used to wheel in horrible thick black mud. It completely ruined the paint on one of my vehicles. I subsequently tried spraying a (mixed with water) film of Truck Wash over and under the vehicle with a garden weed pump sprayer prior to getting muddy, and viola, no such dramas, mud comes off much easier

I'm intrigued... the last picture, what is kinked/bent?

Re: IRO offroad event pics/vids and 4xguard testament!

I normally enjoy trail ride videos and the incidental damage done during those runs, but I'm confused by the need to park on top of big rocks and self inflict damage to your vehicle, but I guess to each his own.

Might have to try that next time. The paint itself did great on this jeep the underside is still nice and rusty red.

Funny how you assume I was trying to "self inflict" damage to my vehicle. I build my jeeps to do work and live up to the jeep name, not sit in the mall parking lot and bling. There wasn't a person out that weekend that wasn't impressed with what the WK could do. Besides why pay all that money on lift, tires, and armor if you're not going to see what it can do right?
