I have a 2005 Grand Cherokee that has the built in WK "rec" navigation radio system. This weekend it started randomly cutting off and sometimes it will come back on when I first start the vehicle, but then maybe 5 minutes later it will shut off again. Yesterday only my volume button on the radio and on the back of the steering wheel would work when it had shut off; all the other buttons (except the number 1-6 buttons for the presets/CD's) would NOT work. Any ideas of what may be wrong?

I am having the same problem. mine last between 5min to an 1hr and the same thing happens radio still works but lcd goes out and the lower row of buttons become un-usable . Did you ever get a fix or did you have to replace unit. odd that is the same problem and mine is 2005 also

check the cables in the back? it they are tight then it is dying

It just had to start to die when about to trade jeep in .
I hope this works since I do not want to put in cash into the jeep just to trade it in 5 weeks.
but I'm sure it will hurt the trade in value if can not get it to work :-(
I think it knew I ordered my 2011 and just waiting to trade it in
