Codes on wrappers - garbage or keep?

I just took delivery on Friday night and found some items in the glovebox that look like garbage, except for maybe the one which says to keep for customer use. My salesman said to keep them but I don't think he knows what he is talking about (he also said that I got the 730 radio thrown in free, when in fact I have the RHB) Anyway, even if these items are NOT garbage - I have NO idea what they are, which makes keeping them somewhat pointless. Can anyone identify WHAT these are and if they should be kept? Thank you!

Jeep assembly line workers keep their weed in those bags. Since the bags are empty I would toss them.

I would say keep them in a safe place. Not in glove box. They have codes on them you may need later.

I guess what I am trying to figure out is what the codes are for. If I need them later, I would never know since I have no idea what they are.

I'm sure one is probably a radio code, and maybe the one on the right is a key code or something (it has 'FOB' on the bag) - beyond that I just don't know.

Re: Codes on wrappers - garbage or keep?

When my GC arrived at the dealer, he let me have a peak at the vehicle.
There was still plastic on the seats, etc.
First thing I noticed was the START button was missing.
I asked him about it, and he said not to worry, it was in the glovebox with the extra key.
So, I'm thinking thats what was in the bags - the start button, and a FOB.

However, when I took delivery of the vehicle, there were no bags to be found.

As you guessed those are the codes for your keys, fobs. Don't lose them. The dealer should have told you their importance.
But...they get big bucks if you lose your keys or fobs and they have to reprogram your security system. Another stealership trick maybe.
Enjoy your new vehicle.

I never received any bags like that...maybe that explains why my salesman had a smile on his face when he handed me the extra key fob.

Re: Codes on wrappers - garbage or keep?

Ha hah, so I decided to Google some of the numbers to see if any were part numbers. Turns out the one on the left - 693084AG is for an iPod adapter. I did not get an iPod adapter with my car (Limited model with 430n). So apparently I was supposed to, but they only gave me the bag. Back to the salesman to find out where it went!

Hmmm - search the forum, but if memory serves it was the old 730RER that had the iPod adapter. I think the 430N is like the newer 730RHR in that it just has a general USB port and you supply your own iPod to USB cord.

You are correct. My salesman got back to me and explained things - I just had not had time to clarify. That bag which Google returned as 'iPod adapter' was in fact the key fob bag. I don't know what the other bag that says 'FOB' on it is. And no idea what the 3rd one is either. So basically I am going to shove all this in a file and hope I never need it. I like to be more organized than that but I guess I'm stuck with that.
