I'm hoping an insider can answer this question. In the brochure, it looks metallic. In the photo gallery in the website, they call it "mineral gray metallic." That is why I ordered it. People here are starting to speculate that it will be a flat color. Why? Can we find out for sure soon? I will change to white if it is not metallic.....

Mineral Gray is a metallic paint. Some people feel that the color just looks a bit dull. It's all a matter of taste of course. Personally, I've never been that impressed by it.

Don't give up on Mineral Gray! It's listed on jeep.com as Mineral Gray Metallic, and there are at least three pics of it in their gallery (towards the end):

It is definitely Metallic and it is absolutly beautiful in person.

The color can only be seen at this point on a Dodge or on a WK like Rob's. We don't know if there are differences for this year, and my dealer doesn't even have a paint chip to view. The metallic on the earlier stuff is not as pronounced as that of the black, charcoal and blackberry, so that is why we've been referring to it as somewhat 'flat' in appearance. I prefer the sparkle of a bit more effect in the newer colors. The Mineral Gray doesn't seem as pronounced as my old Platinum.

Anyone have an actual grand cherokee brochure? All the colors are shown next to each other on page 28. The online brochure doesn't do a great job of showing the true color, but I'm sure the physical brochure will give you an idea of what to expect in terms of "sparkle".
