P013A- bad 02 sensor????

I'm getting code P013A which says

P013a - O2 Sensor 1/2 Slow Response - Rich To Lean

Bad 02 sensor? I think I read somewhere that it may be an exhaust leak..? This isnt the best time either since I have to get emission tested here in a week.

Thanks!

Re: P013A- bad 02 sensor????

I get this code sometimes.. I used to get P 013C all of the time and the dealer finally found a crack in the cats (after numerous o2 sensor replacements).

I haven't done anything about the "A" code yet but I have a tune and I think it could be partially responsible for throwing the code.

Re: P013A- bad 02 sensor????

I guess I'll just run it by an exhaust shop to see if they can find a leak.

Re: P013A- bad 02 sensor????

Brad it has to do with your tune.. I get it periodically and the only thing I don't like about it is that you can't use your remote ignition with an illuminated CEL.

Tell Johan and see what he can do.

Re: P013A- bad 02 sensor????

I think mine has to do with an exhaust leak i have. Not sure where exactly it is but I would imagine somewhere near the cats since it's throwing that code. I just disconnect the battery and reset it and it doesn't come back for a month or more. I am just waiting to get the exhaust leak fixed when I get around to buying a muffler to do all at once.

I am using the canned 91 tune now, and will be running a Johan toona this weekend actually...I will let him know and see if he knows anything about it. Thanks Ryan! Going to use my Trinity to clear it and install a new toona haha

Re: P013A- bad 02 sensor????

I've been ignoring it. Phases me off bc the remote start doesn't work with an active cel. The only thing it might be hurting is gas. I plan to change the sensors in the near future. Prior to ever having a tune, I would get a p013C code, not A..... But since diablo I periodicly get the A code. Send it to johan! I'm curious to hear his opinion.

Did the code fire on the hwy around 60-70 mph? I swear every time the code fires around that speed while coasting.

Re: P013A- bad 02 sensor????

im actually on a canned 87 tune right now...but I have been on that for 1500 miles and it just showed up today...weird.

I am going to ignore it too as I had the dealer take a look last time and there was no issue. I cleared it, if it comes up again Im going to look into ti further. How much is an 02 sensor cost?

Thanks Ryan, might be coming up to the bay in the next two months
