Default Kicker Amp (77KICK18AB) & Boston Acoustics oem speakers

I've purchased the kicker amp from a JG member to install in my 07 WK with the BA system. Indeed to upgrade the speakers and add a sub as $$$ allows. Can't seem to find any specs on the BA speakers. Can anyone tell me if the stock speakers will be ok with the Kicker amp or should I wait until I get better speakers before installing it?

Thanks.

I think it'll be cool. In fact I know.....I did the same thing before I got my kicker speakers. One of the speakers was on backorder and the amp came first

the only risk u run is blowing out your stock speakers if you pump up your volume too much. no biggie

Figured that was probably the case. If it happens, I'll just be forced to come up with the upgrade $$$ that much quicker.

That shouldn't be an issue as the Kicker amp puts out the same power per channel as the Boston (46w/ch).

Really? So I just purchased a supposed "upgraded" amp that pushes no more power than the stock boston acoustics? Well at least I'll get the surround sound "feel."

BUT, you have a much better amplifier. It's not all about the "power", it's how "clean" that power is, and the Kicker amp excels in that respect vs the Boston.

Well that's good to know. Do you have any suggestions for the door/dash speakers other than the mopar/kicker upgrades? Eventually I plan to add a small sub to fill in the lows but honestly, I don't know crap about audio setups.

I have never experimented with anything for the WK other than the Kicker speakers. The reviews on those seem to be overwhelmingly positive. They are perfectly matched and custom designed for the WK system so I don't think that you would see much improvement or benefit in substituting different speakers.

Thanks! They do seem to get good reviews and knowing that they are pretty much plug & play is a good thing too. Prices aren't too bad either.

Yes this is very true you will notice a cleaner sound even with the Boston speaker....

I really havent driven my Jeep since I took the Kicker amp out til today and let me tell you the sound quality the BA amp put out is terible! I already miss it.

If it makes you feel any better Heather it will be in good hands and I promise to make good use of it in the years to come.
