update 7: Moved the hella black magics behind the grille. Cut openings in the mesh, mounted using angle brackets and framed using recessed lighting can covers.
update 8: got black housing headlights from ebay. They aren't sealed well so if you get some reseal. I had water get in the right headlight a month after install and was a pain to stop it from misting up and clean the water out without actually opening them up. I may go ahead and get some halos or retrofit.
update 9: got some AVS wind deflector/visors on the doors. It does tend to reduce the wind buffeting.
update 10: got the 4xguard rock rails and some assistance on the install. One thing to pay attention to is that the instructions were not updated so we were not expecting to need a rivet tool.
Coming up: custom roof light bar with hella FF75s, cameras, sensors, who knows what else.
Jaybee3, actually I expected more problems than I had with the ebay lights, they actually look much better than my crappy photos show. The main thing is to check those seals and add some extra sellant before they go on. I must have missed something on the right headlight because it got some water in it and I am having a heck of a problem getting it out. it isn't much, but when the lamp heats up it mists the glass, I never quite seem to get all of it out, I tried running the highs, a hair dryer, a bottle cleaning brush in a shammy, etc. but I can't get it all out as is so the bumper is going to have to come back off so I can really get at it and also add some sealant.
I must say they did come wrapped well and got here promptly so from the seller I had no issues other than one of the bulb hole tape overs had been ripped and a little piece had fallen in, but the shopvac got that right back out.
No problems with fitment or adjusting either; it was just like OEM.
Nice sounds good I ask because im haveing the exact same problem with My Fogs my left one i got them off ebay and that is why i askd...They looks CLean i like the look
jeff05wk, the light from the hella black magics cut off only a little on the outside of each light, but not enough to disrupt the basic function of shedding light further downfiled when in use with the high beams. I'll try to take pics and post them later this week.
OK, now going after performance mods. I need a lot of advice, I haven't messed with anything myself that wasn't armor/appearance yet on a vehicle, ever.
Would prefer to not make the WK significantly louder though changing the sound is fine (don't wan't to wake the neighbor kids as I drive in late, get up early)
I am open to trying stuff if people have ideas that they weren't able to try with their early07 4.7 WKs.
Besides the Superchips 3875 (not sure to just get the flashpaq or get the vivid linq to go with my phone) I need some actual parts. Most of them for the level 1 kind of effort I can put in myself:
Throttle Body: (FlyinRyan)
Exhaust:
Magnaflow 16632 Stainless Steel 2.5" Single Cat-Back Exhaust System
MBRP S5508409 T409-Stainless Steel Single Side Cat Back Exhaust System
Gibson 617404 Stainless Steel Single Exhaust System
Intake:
K&N57-1548
aFe 54-10252 MagnumFORCE Stage-2 PRO DRY S
custom: hf dry filter, custom intake tube
I have access to a Techshop so I can probably build (or have built) almost anything ( plastic casting, AL casting, blacksmithing, CNC milling)
